Sick of being Killed for no reason

Recommended Posts

Other than the fact the people doing the killing - usually sniping someone who just spawned or sniping full stop - think they are skilled....HEADS UP: YOURE NOT SKILLED just because you snipe someone. It's very easy to do, to stay hidden and just wait for other players to show up. I've heard the excuses "zombies are too easy"...yeah right, try taking on every zombie you see everywhere you go and we'll see how easy they are. Easy is killing other players, hard is tackling zombies everywhere as you can easily get overrun. So that excuse doesn't fly, and no one with any sense believes people kill other survivors because of "the challenge" because there is no challenge in that, none whatsoever. Keep making excuses, but in the end you're just lame, unskilled, unimaginative gamers who think the object of every game is to kill other people.

Dayz should be tackled with a bit more brains, use your imagination!

There's so much more you could do in DayZ, hold people up, take them captive etc etc but no, people seem to think killing others for no reason other than "it's fun" and to take players gear, who worked hard for it.

Sick of being sniped by someone who is sitting there waiting to do just that, from the trees or bushes- well you know what? It's lame. You're not skilled just because you can snipe someone, that's fucking easy. Hard is to perhaps think about doing something more interesting like I mentioned. But I guess that's too much for you 14yr old bandits who are so used to COD etc

Really fed up with it all, so I guess I shall just start doing the same eh? I'm going to start hunting down you lame snipers and beat you at your own game.

'nother rant.

But hey, not even making fun of you. You basically sum up a big problem. If you'd ask me, I'd be in favor of more muggings where people part ways alive, and stuff. Or not even muggings, simple trading or cooperation.

But sadly those cases are rare...

People have to communicate more.

I will keep killing everyone I see until they fix so people just can't disconnect when they face danger.

The last three times I've played I've teamed up with strangers. I'm not finding people KOS too much of an issue. The element of danger needs to be there, that's what makes it tense. I tend to play friendly and like to team up but I will KOS if I'm in a vulnerable position.

Yeah sorry I was mad and posted my rant! I wouldnt mind being threatened then killed, but the killing without knowing who even killed you, well, it lacks substance. I know that there would be a lot of people killing others in a zombie apocalypse or any kind of apoc, but I think most of the time, you would be approached first....but those would be the nasty guys. Whereas the ones killing others in this are just kids so used to killing other players in games, or people who are just nasty and like to spoil it for others, because let's face it, most people wouldn't be killing others to the extent we see in this mod. It's my own fault i got killed anyway, I never get killed when Im being careful, but I was taking a risk when I got killed and was in the open. Guess I'll just stop doing that.

I'm serious when I say I'm going to hunt these camper snipers though. I can be patient too and my last murder has made me determined to start fighting back! Anyone who wants to join in PM me. I play mostly on AUS/NZ servers though....

1. Zombies are really, really easy to deal with.

2. I have never been sniped, wanna know why? Because I play this game, not like a "Zombie survival game", but a tactical military shooter, with zombies and food, which is what it is. Snipers will struggle to snipe you if they can't see you, or you are moving fast and erratically. The only "cure" for the "PvP epidemic" is player skill. Make yourself harder to kill, and they will soon get bored. Keep repeating the same things over and over again, and then posting the 1 millionth thread moaning about it is not going to make it any better.

I never disconnect when facing danger, but when I'm killed I disconnect and quit the game, not because I'm thinking "I dont want him to get my stuff" but because I'm in a rage and quit from being so pissed off!

Yes,because you and other players like you avoid them, or you wouldn't say that. Easy when you have ammo, but that runs out. Easy when there's 4 in your group, not when you're on your own. If you tackle zombies in places where they spawn many many of them, you wouldnt say its easy. But then its easy to hide all the time

Never been sniped? You're lucky, then, because you can't always be hidden, especially when you are OBLIGED to go and get gear when you start. There's way too many people sniping on the coast where people spawn, and that really needs to stop

Killed within 15 minutes of starting the game the first time. I was trying out all the buttons and looking at controls while at the beach when someone started shooting at me...ridiculous. Really offputting, dunno if i want to carry on playing or not, but i did waste some cash on this thing so i'll give it another go when i feel like it until i've had my moneys worth >:(

Rules to live by....

1. Assume Supermarkets and Hospitals are always camped by snipers.

2. Always have some one "covering your six"

3. Always check the tree line for snipers. ALWAYS.

4. Never take more than 10 minutes to be in and out of any target building.

5. Never get too attached to your gear. You are going to die. Period.

You're getting pissed off when you die? o_O

First rule: Don't get attached to your gear.

That is why you move fast and erratically from cover to cover when you are forced to be visible, and yes zombies are easy to deal with. They are easy to fight, and when you run out of ammo , they are easy to escape from. Like I said at the end of the day, it boils down to player skill. Stop bitching on the forums because you got killed, do something about it, change your tactics. Crying about it on the forums won't change a thing. You have 2 choices;

1. Quit the game.

2. Get better at the game.

Don't give up! It is a steep learning curve but it's worth sticking at it.

I found it's worth running OA on it's own, and either load the editor and use that to test things, or my favourite, load the armory, choose weapon or vehicle etc, and test things out. You also get some cool challenges that can be very, ummm, challenging, lol Use the armory/editor to get used to keys (disable challenges if needed until you get into the swing of it) and explore the map a little, and you will soon find your feet! :)

I think DayZ standalone should implement Epics disconnect penalty, in Gears of War 2 and 3 if you disconnected before the match was other you could not reconnect to any match until it had finished obviously this would not work with DayZ because of persistent servers but a predetermined penalty time for disconnecting would deny you return access to any server unit the timer expired. This penalty would not exist if a predetermined list of rules was met, I.e No players in combat for 300m and no zombie presence for 25m and player not in combat, player not injured (actively bleeding or unconscious)

dont be stupid then. its very easy to stay hidden from snipers and their sniper spots. especially if their the electro snipers or chern snipers. id rather take on a sniper than a close quarters encounter with another person any day.

Glad to see socialism alive and well in Chernarus !

That's how I play the game anyway. Mutual co-operation is a great (and often under-rated) element of dayz. The day it gets to everyone simply shooting on sight will be the day I pack it in.

I really hope the ingame com will be as good one day, that NO ONE will use TS or skype anymore.

80% KoS, because they are afraid of the 1% who would pretend to be their friend but betray them.

Very mature, to shoot on sight, just so you don't have to have a specific experience of the game. takes guts to take the risk.

Of course you can avoid it.

I personally choose servers with fewer people as I prefer to play a bit faster but less careful.

But I'd be happy if at least Ammo was a lot more rare.

Close quater isn't that bad either as most people have a really hard time aiming on very short distances.

But a sniper, in a ghillie, that knows what he's doing, kills with his first shot.

Any sniper, needing a second bullet, is a bad sniper.
