Flat, no shit in the way, it places in front of you slightly. Haven't had too many problems other than it randomly deciding to work and giving me a horrible location lol. At any rate, it's still pretty terrible at the moment. Too many horror stories.

A mate helped me figure it out, just keep moving slightly while right clicking to pitch and eventually it works. We now have some tents hidden under water lol

Yeah it is kind of random eh? :) I found 3 so far, but didn't get to use them. Placed one at the entrance to some apartments in Berenzino, thinking I could pick it up on the way out and use it again. Unfortunately once placed you can only activate or deactivate and cannot pick it up and reuse it again :( Bummer.

tents...you guys can actually place tents ?? !! How does one conjure this sorcery ? I can find tents, but never place. Ooops..i lie, i did manage to place one in the street in Elektro once. As soon as i am in the forest..noooooooooo... i must go to the towns to place tents apparently.
