I'd love to see stack-able Bolts for the Crossbow.

This is something that I believe would be fair. The fact that one bolt of the Crossbow takes up one slot in a bag is really frustrating. If the bolts were stack-able in stacks of 3-5 then I believe more people would use the weapon more. I love the whole concept of a crossbow in a zombie apocalypse and this would be a great addition, I think a stack of 3 would be best because the bolts are redeemable after firing.

+1. It's kinda silly to think that the thinnest piece of carbon and metal takes up as much space as the wide bunch of tin next to it. Would make sense if you could at least put a few in a bunch side-by-side. (Stack, like the OP said.)

That sort of is the beauty of the crossbow, you should be able to retrieve your ammo, unless it broke on the impact, or you shot it off into the environment and it got lost.

Would be nice to have a sharpening kit for the knife AND bolts. As the bolts and knife should get dull after multiple uses.

You could make bolts take up 2 slots, but stackable to 20....It's not like there's millions of them around anyway.

I don't even bother taking a crossbow even if I have nothing else...I find it impossible to aim for a headshot with any certainty, and I'm gonna drop it the minute I find a hatchet anyway.

You can already retrieve used bolts in most cases.

Also this has been suggested at least a ridiculous number of times.

Headshots are easy if you practice. This is the only weapon in the game whose aiming isn't just given to you, you must actually practice with it to use it well.

I never found a single bolt that I shot into the zombie. Are they suppose to be on them, when I loot them?

they COULD make it easier by making the bolts lootable through the default loot menu...

but no.. at the moment they must be found sticking somewhere random on the body, typically only accessible in 1st person... ... or the zombie landed on it and you never can get it (because you cant drag/move zombie corpses)

Well, even if these bolts would be stackable. I still think this wouldn't do the crossbow any honor. The crossbow has to little range in my opinion and the iron sight is a bit.. sloppy.

And hell yeah I want my bolts back when I fire them! :D

What they need to do is add a quiver like backpack item that you wear and then allows you to stack up to a certain amount of bolts in it Say 30-50. It would also be cool if when you are in a forest you can make your own wooden bolts if you have the knife and hatchet on you.

Cons: You can only carry a few bolts. Probably the most difficult to aim out of all weapons. Quite often the bolts cannot be retrieved from bodies. If you miss you will never find the bolt. If you do want to retrieve your bolts, you have the fumble about the corpse for quite a while leaving yourself open to attack. Fires so slow that if you aggro a zombie and miss your first shot, you're going to have to run or get hit.

Pros: It's quiet. Sometimes you get some ammo back.

+10 Yes I agree. These need to be in stacks.. be it 5 or 10!! This is a great idea for a weapon especially the survival roleplayers!!!

OP I gave you my beans. As soon as I got a bolt and saw it took up a whole inventory slot I thought it was bull. Bolts are already retrievable. It's something like if you shoot 10 you can retrieve 8 out of those 10.
