So, do people play this game or are there only NPC's?

Recommended Posts

Serious, because this game lacks a complete lack of challenge me and my buddy decided to just go out to the airfield (which is supposed to be the spot were the most geared players all hang out at) and look for some PvP. Instead we found boredom, not a single player was seen this entire evening which we spent on mutiple full servers trying to find PvP.

Do people even leave Cherno these days? Maby we should just hang out on the beach and kill fresh spawns instead because apparently no one goes to the big loot "hot spots"?

You must be new. lol. If you're LOOKING for a fight, and can't find one, you're doing something wrong.

It's hard as shit just to AVOID gunfire.

There are very many people that play the game. Go to a full server and run around in the middle of the airfield or stary sobor for 20 minutes firing off rounds. Report back with your results.

Well you guys have to aware me how to do this then, because having played this game for a while now I have only encountered other players outside of the beach area's twice, once I died the other time he died.

I have looted stary sobor and the airfield many times without encountering any players whatsoever, just tonight me and my mate hanged out at the airfield scouting the baracks, radar tower and fire station for mutiple hours, on mutiple servers (US and EU, all with atleast 45 players) and only once we saw a guy run by in the distance who then logged because he agro'd to many zombies and never came back.

Aware me how it is "hard to avoid a firefight" or where to find these "right" servers.

If you're looking for some solid PvP, go to the woods just north of Cherno, there are always guys there looking for a fight.

lol me and my clan constantly run into lots of other people, we are always under the threat of someone picking us off, thing is, that usually one of us gets injured then saved while one of the other 10 people in the sever with us hunt down the 1 or 2 people stupid enough to engage us, lol

i snipe from the dobry hill allot and i have usually got at least three people with thermals watching my back and there are usually 2 or 3 of us sniping and a couple of spotters with lmg's near us to keep us safe. and its easy pickings lol, we wait for others to go through town get supplies from the supermarket and hospital and then we kill thgem out near the outskirts of town and someone runs down quickly to loot them. better than dealing with zeds to get the gear lol. anyhow thats how it goes.....

Lol I hear gunshots going off all the time, Everytime i hear a gunshot i pack up camp and move about 5 k's down the road, its like the area is tainted when someone else is within 1k of me.

Lol, I literally have not ever once been to the NW airfield and NOT seen someone. Got into an epic firefight with another group of two survivors which went all along the hangars, partially into the woods outside the wall, in one of the industrial complex areas, and into/onto the firestation.

Kept getting shots close or not landing fatal damage, they'd duck away and we'd lose sight, blood bags would be used. They'd get a shot off on my teammate, bandage up, move around to flank, etc.

One of them nearly blew himself up with a grenade near the end, then got popped by my teammate who flanked behind. The last guy was on the top of the firestation at that point and I kept shifting position and shooting at him, he'd occasionally return fire but he always missed, close enough to give me shock though. He was very difficult to hit being prone and barely visible on high ground, but I finally landed a good 1-2 shots from FAL into him and he dropped. I didn't even get a kill message, but my murder count went up and I only realized after a few minutes more of flanking that he was already dead.

Have you not read the posts?

The only advice given is to run around shooting into the air for 20 minutes. Instead we shot a few m14 rounds in the air on the airfield, but not a single player was seen that day.

What I found, is that you actually find more people on the airfield, if there's less players on the servers.

On full servers, everybody is probably thinking "damn....45 players....there's gotta be a lot of guys at the airfield...better not go there right now"

BUt, I can partially relate.

Everybody tells you "if you go to the airfield, you gotta have good weapons! And don't go alone!"

I can't tell you how often I did solo runs to the NWAF with nothing but a winchester...

Same. I find it's quite rare to bump into others there though I do see signs of other players. Just do not fire near there unless you want a fight!

You must have been very unlucky/lucky OP. Honestly stick with it, it's the best PVP outside of Eve.

Its not that hard, i have gone to the airfield about 4 or 5 times. Two or three times with my group and both the times we went as a group their were players already there. However i have gone alone and their wasn't a single player in the airfield. It just all depends on chance, if you want pvp go to Chernogorsk and fire off some rounds by the fire station or store they will go to you.

Some people complain about dieing too much in a zombie survival game:

I quit. I'm not looking for any more crash sites. Not scavenging any more buildings. I quit. Too many people shoot first and ask questions later.

Some people complain about not enough combat:

Serious, because this game lacks a complete lack of challenge me ... we found boredom, not a single player was seen ... spent on mutiple full servers trying to find PvP.

DayZ can't win.

Go to Cherno, Elektro, NW airfield, and other big lootable areas. I'm sure you'll find some "possible friendly" people there. :)

Gigantic update!

Today I ran into a enemy player at the airfield! I was looting the baracks when he entered and a epic shootout ensued where both of us were hiding in a different room and shooting at each other. He even trew a bunch of grenades at me! In the end I started to run out of ammo so I charged his room and we ended up cross killing eachother. This is how I imagine days spend at the airfield should be. Now if only this happend more than once every blue moon then this game would be totally epic.

Kudo's to whoever my opponent was as he did not disconnect, even though the firefight lasted 5 or so minutes of just me and him.

i found your problem, fulls servers = lots of people so most everyone except server jumpers(who spawn next to barracks haddle inside, waddle back out and switch to new server) avoid NWAF thinking it will be swarmed by hordes of gun toting hooligans

go to a low-medium pop server and most ppl pressume that everyones spread out doing thier own thing and its safe to go running about up there, when the reality of it is they are pretty much all up there, was on a sever with 4 ppl last nght me included, im hunting heli's at the town just east of NWAF lol'ing at the melodic sounds of sniper fire every couple of minutes as someone fresh logs in, get shot at and logs out

alternativley go starry, theres always someone at starry provided your happy to wait 10 minutes
