Spread The Word: Surrender Key

Hello Day Z Community,

My name is S6! Acebane and I make a variety of youtube videos and you can view my channel from my signature. In any case, I do bandit acts quite often where I rob players and recently one player I robbed in

actually had his SURRENDER key bound. I want to increase awareness of this keybind that is, by default, not assigned to a key. I make a quick video about how to bind your key if you are confused.

It's up to us as the player base to spread the word of things like this to enhance gameplay. To yell at someone to put their hands up is actually VIABLE with the surrender hotkey bound. Hopefully with more people binding this key, more bandits will resort to robbing instead of shooting everyone on sight (disconnecting aside :/). So spread the word to all of your friends and enjoy spamming the key to make trolly videos as if you're doing the macarena dance :).

If a bandit is honorable enough to not shoot me while/after doing this, then he/she deserves my loot far more... More bandits like this would be much appreciated! I think this behavior is more fitting of the title ''bandit'' rather than the ''all-out-psychopathic-murderer'' players..

Saw surrender could be keybound some time ago, however i assumed it would have a similar function to Restart or Respawn so didn't dare try it. Thanks for raising awareness about this to the public, and I'll do my best to do so aswell :) My hat off to you sir!

@SnR any kind of punishment may detract from the bandit experience. There's "no honor among thieves" so, if there are some "honorable" bandits that spare their victims, that's cool but there's no rule in place to stop them from being mass murderers. The freedom to play the game you want to play is VERY appealing to all players who play this. Some ruin your experience sometimes, but hey - not much you can do about it lol. Look @ hackers who just go around shooting people for no reason at all other then to grief.

Being a bandit is too easy and rewarding. The game either needs to be designed well so that natural deterrents reduce banditry, or create artificial punishments.

rocket has been unable to successfully do the first, and failed hard at the second (bandit skins, as opposed to popular opinion, were done shittily, not a shitty idea. UO, a 20 year old game with full-loot pvp, managed it just fine)

Yea there are a ton of useful keys that are defaulted to nothing. The "evade front" will instantly get you up from a crawl to a sprint so if you agro a zed you can run away with out getting hit.

@Carl, lol the 30 seconds to bind a key is so much trouble. Let's just spend another 25 minutes running back to your body instead.
