Perishable Meat

Recommended Posts

Not sure if its posted, don't care this is my idea anyway.

Food that is cooked should give a small bonus if eaten on the day of being cooked, I propose 1250 BP.

For each day that it's kept in backpack its "nutritional value" decreases by 250, giving 5 days worth of freshness before it becomes 'spoiled'

1250 > 1000 > 750 > 500 > 250 > 0

Raw meat starts at 750 and so spoils after 3 days if not cooked.

if you wana make the meat go away or rott after 1-3days thats fine with me but i dont think theres a point in over complicating things like keepcarlm said.

I actually feel that having meat rott after 1-3 days should be implimentd anyways to keep item hording down.

The days are tracked, each day you log in it reports which day your char is on. When it detects a new day, it goes through all meat in your pack and reduces it by 250. First, how is that complicated? Secondly do you know how easy that is to do in code? I'm a programmer and that is 2-3 lines tops.

At least begin to know what you're talking about ;)

This is not to complex and it fits the mood of the mod. You should always be running out of supplies and in need to scavenge for more. I really hope that the meat will be perishable in the future,

It would make sense.

In addition, why not add salt bags to the residential loot drops?

Meat could be cured with salt and smoked, not only as an alternative to cooking, but to make it last longer.

Hm well, Regular Table salt would be out of that equation I think. Mostly because its processed in factories.

However it's possible to desalinate and separate salt/water from Seawater by heating it up. So I guess you could get sea salt pretty easily although without proper cleaning facilities it will have lots of bits in it

However that is definitely making it more complicated now. Hehe
