Recommended Posts

Date/Time:19/05/2012

What happened: I was in a house while been chased by zombies. i closed the door in the hope that it could give me some time to reload and bandage. The zombie walked though the door as if it was not there. it has also happens with cars in a few areas zombies just walk directly though them.

Where you were: Near Komarovo i think?

I wonder if this is getting fixed, after the ddos server browser its the most annyoing bug when the zombies just disregard any obstacles, walk and hit you through walls.

This is an incredibly annoying bug, that no-clip and ability too attack through walls is... frustrating. Don't know if it's part of Arma, or if it's part of the zombie model/pathing/behavior, but... it could do with some love.

I've had this same bug, it really doesn't matter where you are. Zeds seems to be able to hit you through whatever, walls, glass windows, doors etc. On the flip side I was able to shoot a zombie that was phasing through a door.

This is an arma 2 "feature", as it allows the AI to get to places that the AI code isn't advanced enough to take care of. So walls, doors, fences, gates, hesco barriers, sand bags, barbed wire, etc...

They were actually working on this a while ago in a beta patch which made AI crawl through openings in fences instead of just phasing through. So hopefully BIS will continue work on the issue and get it solved finally.

It'll probably be fixed when ArmA 3 comes... Since it has PhysX and will make the AIs collide onto objects and walls.

The scripted zombie attack... Not sure if they can fix it going through walls, just don't stand by a wall.

agree. really frustrating if u found good loot and want to take a rest somewhere and BAM a zombie teleports through the wall an thats it. hope this gets fixed. seems to be a major problem. with this not beeing fixed i guess many people will avoid this mod. (of course understandable: enemies who can walk through walls???)

+1

This happens all the time, sometimes they walk thru the walls and sometimes they teleport in.

The best is when they agro through a wall even though you're 0/0 vis/aud, and knock you unconscious. I've seen them floating and jumping from tall objects only to knock me unconscious without ever giving me a chance to shoot. There is no longer any real way to loot so I guess I will switch to PVP like everyone else. Hostile players are a lot less dangerous than floating zombies. C'mon 1.7.2........

I just died from this bug, server was 1.7.1.5. I fled into a house and shot the zombies as they came in the front door. Little did I know that three had passed right through the wall behind me. They knocked me out before I could turn and shoot them.

This was not a problem I remember happening with 1.7.0.
