DayZ- am I the only one who likes playing at night?

Of course, the title is a bit hyperbolic. But anyway, I just think that night-time in DayZ is the most fun. It provides the same "features" as day time [excluding limited visibility]...except it has more of a thrill factor, and personally I think it's more fun.

Normally when none of my group members are online, I like to join full-pop night servers and head to Cherno/Elektro/Starry/Berezino. I then proceed to light it up with flares...the side chat fills up with freaked out players asking "who's chucking flares?" and such. I recall one person saying "fuck this shit", which was pretty funny. A lot of tension builds between the players [as most of them are in the larger towns/cities] and gunfire goes on for hours.

Or for an alternative source of joy I take my ATV and ride through Cherno. :D

P.S. COULD ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME THE SOUNDTRACK FOR THIS VIDEO?!

I feel the same way. It's why I carry a G17 (which most people regard as an awful gun) at least until I get some NVG's. Also, you can't beat the tension of a nightime crawl through Cherno whilst players bring the second apocalypse down around your ears and the zombiods go fucking insane. No better sight than a firefight in the city during the twilight hours...

I prefer to play at night since I have NVGs. When I die I will prefer the daytime :).

There is no night time in this game. Boost your HDR to Very High as well as your gamma and brightness. Now your playing in the day :)

People who prefer playing at night are in the minority, but I do find it more fun then playing during the day. It wasn't that long ago that there was a few servers that were always full at night time. Now it pretty much never happens. It's the reason the G17 is my favorite pistol as well. Never really understood why so many people prefer playing a survival horror zombie game during the day. Kind of ruins the experience imo. Kind of understandable when it used to be pitch black at night i guess, but that isn't the case any more.

When I do play night I use flares, because flares counter NVGs.

I like playing during the day but night time is good for looting cities as it provides a cover from snipers and bandits( unless they decide to turn up the brightness)

I like to play at night as well, just because the zed's dont aggro so much. But there are definitely different "nights". The (beautiful) moonlight nights are nearly the same as daytime in terms of visibility. But there also pitchblack nights where gamma/brightness doesnt help anything....you just see nothing (without nvg).

Brightness adjustments should be locked out, just like the game doesn't let you change view range.

I love playing at night, it really changes the game. Its defiantly fun with all the light play, Like pointing your weapon mounted flashlight at the player you are shooting to blind them. I wish less servers adopted the "eternal day".

I have used the G17's flashlight to devastating effect on players with NVG's as well as the flashlight on my Remington.

It seems to either be affected by blood pressure or moon light, not sure which. Got on a night server last night and could literally see NOTHING but stars. At some point, though, the area lit up just enough for me to navigate and loot the NWAF.

I love it. In a zombie apocalypse, it's only logical one would go into town at night to raid for supplies, since both zombies and hostile players depend on sight to spot you from far away. I don't even use NVGs or flares, I just squint and try to make out what's what. Use my ears to detect zeds and keep away from them. It's exhilarating.

Moving around in daytime is looking for trouble. Both from zombies and from players. Which is fine, but it's a different part of the game.

I'd hate that. Day already comes too soon, imo. At 4am it's already clear as noon. I'm a night walker.

As soon as me and my cousin got the M4A3 CCO we started playing only at night.

Easier to get by zombies, harder for players to see you. It's a win/win.
