Bandits NEED to be recognized again!

Recommended Posts

I am so incredibly in love with this PvP game!

...no, actually I am. It's great fun, but there are plenty of douchebags out there. That's why I kill on sight no matter what situation. I see some poor bastard running along the beach without a weapon? Too bad. He's dead. It prevents him that life from getting a weapon and killing me. I used to not be like this. I used to lend a helping hand to distressed survivors, but this apocalpyse made me grow cold inside. I wanted to be the black guy that helped Rick Grimes, but that isn't me anymore. I am not above killing you for a bandage and not above killing you just because you may possibly have been someone that killed me in a previous life.

Every person I kill I say to myself "There! Take that you bastard! This is my payback for you having killed me for nothing!". Chances are they didn't kill me before, but it makes me feel better.

Then you sir must be a bacon-eating magician who can tell whether somebody is a bandit or not.

LOL oh oh. Wez been found out! Keep being a bandit, and we'll keep hunting. Our paths will cross one day.

On Topic: I agree with the OP - some way of distinquishing people that make a hobby of killing innocents would, simpley put, make my job eaasier. That's all.

i've half come around to this thinking.

if a guy is bare handed, and i have one bandage i won't attack.

having any weapon in hand makes you fair game.

i'm all for a humanity mechanic, but maybe it could be balanced.

strengths and weaknesses for both.

There is a value called "humanity" still in the game for this, but the devs can never agree on how to implement consequences or rewards for it without breaking the nature of the game.

People with low humanity should have some negative consequences. Shoot on sight is safer compared to checking whether someone is hostile or not. They also get the loot.

I'd make them need alcohol or drugs. That would make bandits need one more thing to stack and it would increase bandit vs bandit fights.

I agree with Banditery

It's people like you that are my favorite to hunt simply because you hate us. Being a bandit is a way of survival. We choose how we want to live and this is the path we take. If you have a problem with being sniped from ~700m and being shot in the foot in dying, then too bad hop on the bandit train and tally your murders ;)

Why not check out the other boards on this forum? It's not only the general board. There is a sub board especially for people looking for coop play.

I agree that being a bandit is a valid way too survive, but currently being a bandit is the ONLY way to interact with other people.

With some kind of identification, you can identify who are natural born killers and want to kill others in the sense of a pre-meditated murder with a motive (be it loot or entertainment, security) AND the people that shoot on sight with deathmatch reactions simply because they don't want to get shot and killed.

If you choose to be a bandit, then others should be able to tell. This is clearly not an apocalypse simulator, its a mod for a video game, therefor there should be mechanics that promote the game itself. Some choose cooperation or killing others, the current system makes the latter almost 100% unviable, it forces people to shoot on a hunch instead of a motive, which in my opinion ruins the game for alot of people. If you want to be bandit, that's perfectly fine, but at least have the courtesy of letting people who dont be able to identify themselves as peaceful.

This has been addressed so many times.

Rocket has said he is not going to punish a specific play style.

Adapt to the game because he is not going to cater to you.

People already adapted. It's not a specific play style anymore. It's the playstyle now.

Everybody is a bandit, deal with it.

LIes... also I think instead of bandit skins just unique skins over all would be better.

Yes. Its either that or sitting in the woods and avoiding any contact.

And if you want to have any interaction with the other players, just use the thing that you have in your hands... You know, the one that makes the loud sound. I'm sure that won't go unnoticed by the other players. They'll usually even interact to such an event in some rather interesting way.
