Can you remove map markers?

I placed a marker on the map and I want to remove it.. Is this possible and how do you do it?

Be careful if you add a map marker, everyone with a map can both see and delete them. (you can have some good fun because of this!)

If you want to put a hidden marker on the map, add it when you are in direct chat, this way no one can see or remove it. ;)
