janus0104 212 Posted February 6, 2013 But if i die, it will still be "mine"?Yes, it will still be "yours" in terms of packing them up again - the only feature for which the ownership is relevant. The game doesn't treat your lives differently data-wise, the tent is just assigned to your profile (your computed Global Unique ID), when you die your character's "is dead" flag is set from false to true. You disconnect to lobby and come back on the server and it sees you're dead, so it resets your gear, position, health and stance - i.e. you reappear at a beach with default gear and standing upright. janus0104 212 Posted February 6, 2013 So can I or can I not? Got a bit confusing now.I thought you could, but took a second look just to be sure. I was wondering why the game would occassionally keep dead survivor rows in the survivor's table, now I know that's because the deployables reference them as the owner id, different from their alive character.Summing it up, unless they changed the code without changing the SQL interface, you can't pack up deployed tents once you died. osc123 0 Posted February 6, 2013 So basically a deployed tent got to be placed good cuz u'll probably never be able to move it again? Sounds like I gotta find a good spot for it then. How rare are they btw?

How rare are they btw?Yup.As to being rare, used to be (or at least feel like) a 20% chance of finding one in a freshly loot-spawned supermarket, far lower in other places. With the new version, who knows.
wooly-back-jack 294 Posted February 6, 2013 tents always need to be in a good location, don't forget to make them hard to spot from the air too. In dense foliage for example (careful not to plant it too deep into it as it won't be accessible)

osc123 0 Posted February 7, 2013 Very offtopic now but is my character also saved to a server these days compared to before?
janus0104 212 Posted February 7, 2013 There's 3 categories:- Private servers, anything you do on these is local to them.- Private hives, groups of different servers connected and your character data is synched between them. What servers are in a private hive is usually either explained with ingame server message spam or on their website or s.th. like that- Public hive servers, basically the same as the second group just that servers are synched over a global public group, but forced to be vanilla DayZEach of these has their own advantages and disadvantages. osc123 0 Posted February 7, 2013 Another question if that's ok with u guys, if I would park a car near the tent. When would it disappear?
wooly-back-jack 294 Posted February 7, 2013 It wouldn't until discovered.or if the server gets hacked and the hacker teleports vehicles to himself the server admin may reset the vehicles.I have had my server running since beginning of November and have only wiped vehicles once.mine is on vilayer private hive btw if you want to try it out, also join the steam group in my sig :)
