True, there's a few misunderstandings about the game surely, but is it truly their fault? On the DayZ homepage, nothing says anything about this game being in alpha state. In the DayZ download page, nothing about it being an alpha. In the Six Updater installation page, still... nothing about it being an alpha. In the DayZ "What is Day Z" page... still alpha is a word not mentioned... Even the version number "1.7.2" isn't a typical alpha build code, while something like "0.7.2" is.

So, the question is... who is really at fault for random DayZ beginners not knowing that this game is in alpha?

The answer is: The DayZ Team.

The homepage (or any of the aforementioned pages) should be more willing to explain what state this game is in, and GUIDES on how to play. Sure, diving into the forum will explain all that in time, but for common random newbies, you can't blame them for not knowing.

While they got a few items wrong, they got the experience right.

But it says right there "Download DayZ (Alpha Test)". It's very clear as to what state this is in.

Its better than that Yogscast garbage. :)

The Yogscast wouldn't have been so bad if they weren't tripping around with an obvious hacker.
