Nice guy! :D

Recommended Posts

I'm comfortable with the fact that I'm probably going to be the only person who won't shoot someone on prospect.

I'll try to help out players in need, regardless if they turn right around and shoot me in the back.

I'll go out of my way to save people if they're about to get killed from zombies.

I'll stay out of firefights, but try to help the winner if he's low on blood.

I enjoy being a nice guy.

But it's rather lonely. :(

The bad things about trying to be a lawfull good person in this game, you have abunch of rogues around you, you will get backstabed, many many, times, and then you'll find your self bitter and upset...and then you can join my clan, and skin anyone that comes across your path..of course i keed..for the most part.

Good for you :) I try my best to be a nice guy, but I've just been killed by ass holes too many times. Since I started playing, I've really gone from a friendly survivor to a blood thirsty bandit.

It's really hard to play nice with people right now because 99% of people(Of the ones I've encountered) Will shoot on sight. Now I've just gotten to the point where if I see someone sniping I'll toss a couple road flares, sneak up behind them.. open my comms and ask if friendly ::Wait for Response:: When I don't get one I just shoot them in the leg, take their morphine out of their backpack and run away.

I will usually give people the benefit of the doubt before I get decent weapons. After that though, I really offer no quarter for anyone deciding to challenge me.

Also, as I started playing with a group, anyone who gets near us gets shot on sight. If a lone survivor is heading the other way, he can live as long as he stays out of range. If you manage to sneak into town while we're looting, it's nothing personal but your a dead man.

This mainly stems from being shot at too many times.

If I see a player I will attempt to remain undetected for as long as I can. Personally, I kill for any possible effective reasons, everything from loot, threat, or learning new players the game(i like to fire 1 round only + 1 missfire for audibility, without a kill if they look like total newbies), or to frighten or attract other nearby players. If there is a reason, I will fire...

For example, some days ago I killed two teamed-up unarmed survivors at the docks in Komarovo, who probably just spawned, just because they'd be a bigger threat later in the game since they're teamed-up. The last guy I shot screamed like hell

The golden rule is, if he's armed, kill immediately if possible. Loot him if there is no possible threat, otherwise just leave him and the loot. If he's unarmed, evaluate the situation carefully. There's probably even no reason for why you shouldn't react. I like to follow people and figure out if he has a specific goal. If he has none, I leave him, unless I want to target practice (mostly from long range) which is very valuable experience in a real fight. If he has a goal though, I either follow him and take advantage, or kill him; it depends.

There is however an exception if the person is undoubtfully friendly, which is very hard to tell unless you randomly bumped into eachother and one is unarmed and so on. Then I usually tell them to go away; if they don't within 15 seconds I kill them immediately as it could be a trap.

If someone like you would come up to me and say "Hey, you want a blood transfusion? =D" I'd shoot you right in the face and run away without looting you.

The bad things about trying to be a lawfull good person in this game,

...is trying to uphold a law that doesn't exist.

I'm a little disheartened by this.

But nevertheless, I'd still ask.

I usually roll solo and watch people shoot each other and help new spawns when I can. Since there's no point in getting attached to gear, getting backstabbed shouldn't make you too cynical. So far my longest char made it about two days.

That said, I did just die to two dudes after running up one side of a hill looking for a safe (hah!) spot to bbq, and they came up the opposite side. I saw the tents just as I heard their heavy breathing and of course playing mr.friendly I announced "friendly" over the mic a bunch and one guy shot me.

I could have been the cynical lone forest hermit and shot them since I heard them first and had an M249 but that isn't the way I've been playing.

Anyway, they were cool and I got some people to run with out of it. It's not like finding gear is difficult. After all I've been shot with a whole variety of high class weaponry. Still 0 murders for me though. Just sayin'.

Maybe next I'll join up with some medic players or figure out some other fun new ways to play.

One upside to this play style is I can loot a town in nothing flat, and juke zombies like no one's business. ;D
