Im not sure what info I can actually give! It just says Connection Failed! And it does it for EVERY server. not just DayZ ones! which is worrying me because I have played on other servers before... I think it might have something to do with the big red X but I don't know what it means.

Have you checked your firewall? so it does not block Arma2.

Connection Failed? It sounds like you may not of done everything correctly, the following may of happened:

- Your launch options are incorrect or not set up

- You did not put in the mod files/extracted them/put them in the wrong area

- You are not launching as Combined Operations

Steam and retail.. Eh doesn't matter, I heard with sixupdater you can launch it appropriately.

You are suppose to unpack them into your @DayZ/Addons folder. Consider using the stickied installation guide and start all over again.

But it does it with every servers. not just dayz-s so i dont think its the mod..

Then while you may not be able to connect properly to any server it may be a fault on your end as a Firewall or Anti-Virus may be blocking you.

I went with the Six Updater way and it says that DayZ is incompatible and wont install it.

First of all check youre firewall. AND that you have the latest Arma2 patch!

If that not work.

Execute

netsh winsock reset

with cmd.

If it still does not work, make copy of your registry and do the following:

Start Windows in safe mode, go to device manager, show hidden devices and delete the following non-PnP-drivers:

HTTP

AVMPORT

NetBios over TCP/IP

TCP-IP

Driver for automatic RAS-connection

Windows Socket 2.0 Non-IFS

It sounds like you are running patch 1.59

Make sure you install the ArmA2:OA 1.60 patch

I removed all firewall rules for Arma

Six Updater says DayZ is incompatible..I dont know why.

um.. Whenever I try to put -=DaypX273whatever into the Arma Shortcut it says path does not exist...

I might be forgetting something but thats about it.

Have no experience with Sixupdater, this is how I mannaged without:

Find your main ArmA2: Combined Operations folder.

Create a folder inside called @DayZ

Create a folder inside that called Addons

Download all files from http://us.armafiles.info/

dayz_code_v1.5.7.rar

dayz_equip_v1.2.3.rar

dayz_sfx_v1.1.rar

dayz_v1.2.4.rar

dayz_vehicles_v0.1.rar

dayz_weapons_v1.1.1.rar

Unpack these to ArmA 2 Combined Operations/@DayZ/Addons

Create a shortcut, add -mod=@DayZ -nosplash in the target line.

hey!

for the last 2 days ive been dealing with the same shit! and believe my I know how frustrating it is.

I tried all of the above fixes, some stuff just didnt change a thing and others just annoyed me enough to make me rage quit.

what ended up fixing it for me was opening ports, i still get connetion failed or issues (I cant even remember what it sais but you know which error i mean) but when i retry it works most of the time if not always.

so i opened the following ports:

some of these ports might be overkill but i visited so many forums and websites all touching on the arma 2 connection issues.

if you dont know how to port forward try to find your modem here: http://portforward.com/ (website with instructions)

and just type in google, "what is my Ip"

(then just type the IP in your browser)

What i personally had to do was find my local ip.. because i think we have more than 1 modem in this house, doing this brought me to another interface and when i opened ports there it worked.

Also make sure UpNp is enabled, always makes games work better.

If you want to find your local Ip. open CMD command and type ifconfig.

and the IP behind standard gateway was the one i was looking for.
