Trips28 2 Posted July 11, 2012 Being an involuntary pacifist when starting out, I could really go for a "hands-up" aka please don't shoot me type of emote/animation. This would most likely involve some scripting/coding, but some sort of clearly defined friendly/not-shooting couldn't hurt. This could also be beneficial in trading/interacting with others – as each participant wouldn’t be pointing a gun directly in the other’s face.
suspense 210 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) That would look pretty funny.ArmA 2 already has an "emote" or "function" to actually show you are friendly. You can lower you weapon which gives your whole charecter a different way of walking and looking. To raise the weapon you enter a 2 second animation in which any other player could react to the hostility. Unfortunatly, not many people use this. YourStepDad 6 Posted July 11, 2012 Definitely needed. I was watching some Arma life simulation mod gameplay earlier(something like that :P) and saw an animation of a player putting his hands behind his head, meaning it already exists in arma. Raising your hands in the air? Not sure.Either would please me.
lordsqueak 0 Posted September 25, 2012 The emote is already in the game , but you have to bind the key yourself. =)
starwarsfan@gmx.de 450 Posted September 25, 2012 The emote is already in the game , but you have to bind the key yourself. =)Also doesn't really work while you're holding a gun, as you don't stay in that position, not sure wether that's intentional though. Bearded McGee 121 Posted September 26, 2012 There's the surrender move, but it's either borked or incomplete.I'd love an actual HANDS-UP-BEETCH-'TIS-BE-A-ROBBIN' move.Say it also made you drop you gun? Actually being on the ground, the would be bandit could than take it from you.
bazbake 456 Posted September 26, 2012 Further evidence that we should just throw out Arma 2's mechanics and replace them with Sleeping Dogs' mechanics? :|
m.w. vindicator 880 Posted September 26, 2012 (edited) I binded my surrender key. Like others have said it doesn't work very well. Certain mods make good use of it. For example the SLX and Warmods. Also you can easily disarm some who is wounded. This could be very useful in DayZ. one could disarm a unconscious player so that the player couldn't instantly shoot you.
