Better immersion when shaking idea...

Recommended Posts

Rocket,I love the effect when your low in health and you start screaming from fear and think this idea would add to that excellent concept.I'm thinking that when your screaming in fear that the shaking you get when in pain would merge perfectly. Can also start if your taking alot of damage in short period of time even with high blood levels. Then when you finally get away from danger the screams stop but the shaking persists for awhile and slowly fades.Would add that shaky horrifed feel that living in a zombie apocalypse would surely bring.

As for the pain killers,I think they could be used for something else but nothing comes to mind.Actually, maybe have it so that broken legs are just injuries instead.A normal injury requires painkillers to be able to run while a severe injury that forces you to crawl requires morphine?

Finally an anxiety meter, and no not a sexual on... LOL.Think humanity meter like but instead just a face that goes green to red. When red you need to drink alcohol to bring back up or risk screaming out loud in fear when you get near zeds.If your sneaking around with high anxiety its a percentage chance to snap which instantly aggroes zeds.

You think possibly that's how the system already works?

Painkillers for small injury, morphine for broken legs..?

I don't often notice the shakes because i like 3rd person, but all I can see is vet servers with no 3rd person becoming mighty pissed at not being able to relieve the shakes!

FFS what are painkillers supposed do do in your opinion??

I think prevent your character from enduring pain works quite nicely at the moment..

Yes,play in first person to see how annoying it is to fight back when shaking.Couple that with the screaming effect when low health and around zeds and its perfect.I posted it because the screaming in fear would be over the top with the shaking enabled at same time that then slowly fades over time.

Painkillers just do not stop my shakes,if I ever get them. They remove pain, not shaking in real life.I said maybe they can make the broken bones be fractures and sprains where if you get a sprain then painkillers and if you get a fracture then morphine it is.Could have small jumps from less than one story be a sprain and over one story a fracture.Same with zed attack severity determining sprain or fracture.

on a somewhat related note, i was thinking to myself the other day that the ingame shaking isnt really needed - if you get into a firefight or find someone after a few hours of gameplay, you start to shake yourself... for example, the shaking after 1:38 is my hand, not the game :

generally though, i think most of what you have written has already been implemented in some way

It could work out but you would need some balancing such as such relaxation pills.

That shaking effect you added looked kool but I do not get shakes from the game though.

Yes its all there already but being done at different times.First time I heard the screaming when at low health I was amazed at it and felt it polished the mod.Now if they were to combine the screaming when in fear effect with the shaking effect it would amplify the feeling and polish the fear effect even more..And to escape and the shaking slowly fades over time would be amazing IMO.The shakes in dayz right now start when you get hit at a certain level of damage and just disappear as soon as you click to take painkillers. Not very immersive.

Possibly alcohol to keep you sane?Any type of relaxation would benefit your sanity. Edited by wolfstriked

Speaking of pills, Diazepam anyone?

diazepam.jpg

It could be a few items that can combat anxiety or fear.Hospitals for the good shit and other areas carry booze and the like.

to clarify, those were real shakes after about 20 mins of camping that barn in that situation

let yourself get immersed and the game is quite a thrill

though yeah i do like idea of shaking fading over time after an action sequence.

Couple that shaking with the screaming in fear that is in Dayz, triggered when the screaming starts was what I was getting at when I first started post.I cant find a video where people are playing dayz and that screaming starts which is kinda strange.

How about in addition to screaming and shaking if you don't get relaxation pills you will eventually go insane(AI will take over) and you will have 5 before you commit suicide but in that time you attack any allies and act like a zombie.

LOL,yet happens to me alot.Last life I was being chased by a group of around 10 and crying like a baby. But it has no bad effect and is just that, crying in fear.Add in the shaking and it now becomes a real effect.

Yes,was thinking something like that with a fear icon but with less of a negative effect.Attacking allies and becoming like a zombie is intense. :( Maybe start breathing real heavy when around zeds that could increase your sound level a notch or two?Or the shaking when aiming from exertion slightly upped.

Well Acting like a zombie and going insane happens in real life look at the Miami incident it's proof enough.

That was crazy but I dont think many people would resort to that level. We would most likely shit our pants and become so depressd that suicide would be done regularly.Which got me thinking that when game becomes finalized they should put suicide victims everywhere.Laying in beds with wrists slashed and hanging from trees etc.Little kids that run out from nowhere being chased by zeds and you trying to save them. LOL,then again maybe too real is no good.
