*Timeline of events before/after error: Spawned at wilderness without anything the day before, lost M24, M4 CCO SD, NVG, GPS, ..., was extremely pissed, respawned the next day near Cherno, found some stuff (Hatchet, ALICE, Makarov, DB Shotgun, Morphine, Food, Pepsi, aso), server restarted (regular 6h restart) then spawned in Elektro without all the stuff i found before, was pissed again, logged out (still pissed)

What happened: None of my progress saved, even the server rolled back and my tents and vehicles moved back to my old hideout.

What you were doing: You name it. Looting NE Airfield, towns near the NE Airfield, Torturing survivors, moving my tents to a lesser known location, fixed up a vehicle etc.

Timeline of events after error: I logged in, my tents were gone. I had this happen yesterday, so I assumed they were back in my very old hideout. I went to it and sure enough they were there. I picked up my equipment and moved it all to my new location then decided to switch my gear to a new server as I thought it was just that server. Placed my gear on the new server and then went offline for a bit. Came back on and my tents were completely empty. I had logged out for 2 mins in the middle of nowhere, it's extremely unlikely that somebody looted it.

Update: It happened again. I decided to go on from Elektro. Raided a few houses, killed a dude and a bunch of Z's and got some spiffy swag. Then I got the "No message recieved" alert and logged off. Logged on to a new server and was back where I started. No point in playingw then, is there?

Same. I was at the north west airport, sever timed out. Logged back on and I'm where I was several hours ago. My kill count has gone from 56 to 1. =( It was the first time I started doing well.

Same problem here,

Playing for about 2 hours, got AK, LOADS of supplies, food, driks, ALOT of ammo, secondary weapon (revolver), knife, binoculars, maps etc etc

Also worked my way to north airport.. now i'm back where i was last time i played with a hatchet... -_-

What happened: 1) loggin onto a server lost 6 hrs. of todays progress, also two of my squad mates had the same issue.

2) server crashed after an hour and i got set back to that very same spot i left yesterday lost all my progress again...

so i got set back to the same spot 2 times, one of my mates was bleeding i managed to find a cow so i could eat and go bandage him, well im on that mountain again without food, starving and my mate is bleeding for the 3rd time today on the same spot...

What happened: None of my progress saved. On one occassion, I defaulted into a male character which I didn't chose

What you were doing: It happened on 4 occassions. On each and every one of the occassions I was safe in a forest in the middle of nowhere. Because this happened on 4 occassions, I can't remember each one exactly except 2 - one in the forest west of Kamyshovo, the other just east of Pusta. Please note that I aborted the mission correctly (did not ALT-F4)

Current Version Installed: 1.7.2

Server you were on: Can't remember exactly, but possibly SC060, FR20, LU65... all UK/EU servers

Had the same thing today.

I stopped near a Deer Hut not to far from Vbor to loot it + check inventory and eat/cook food etc. I then ran over to NW Air Field, killed a bandit and looted Barracks (the ones west of the airfield), retreated from the Barracks to the field under no pressure (no further players engaged etc), headed back towards Vybor and then disconnected in a bush for a break. I have returned later to find i am back at the Deer Hut near Vybor with the progress of the last two hours lost.

Can we please get an update on this from a dev? its almost pointless playing until fixed :( i dont mean that in a whiney way and i appreciate its Alpha.. but if progress isnt saved and i return to almost the point i first reconnected at from the day before... i am no further ahead after 2-4 hours of play!

I have had the exact same problem. Seems to be fixed. I didn't reinstall something and then test the game, I did it all at once, Here is what I did.

• Reinstalled dayz manuallly. (didn't do it properly so I then went and continued using sixupdater)
  
• Reinstalled Battle eye
  
• Reinstalled the beta patch.
  
• deleted player profile
  
• created new player profile without changing the skin. (I read on the wiki changing the skin can cause an error).
  

After all this I tried logging in, was at respawn location.

Headed into a town and got some firewood, then headed to a hidden location.

I was on a ON3 network server (aus/newzealand). Logged out, joined another server, I spawned back at the same location with the firewood, I did this for four servers in total and found that they all worked expect for servers hosted by AusArma (australian), On their servers I would keep my save but when I went to other servers I would get my other save. Whilst this doesnt really help anyone outside of australia and newzealand, It would seem that some servers aren't sending your save files to other servers.

I've had this problem previously many times, and it's usually due to the server not updating to the hive. Always seems to happen around patch time. Possible temporary solution is to play for 5 minutes, don't do anything drastic just move a fair distance.. log off then log back onto the server, if you've moved, it should be sweet, if you havn't.. then try another server.

I too had a interesting night.

1. After playing for a good hour and heading to meet up with some friends I logged out to change to there server and when I rejoined... saw my death message and spawned in debug, first time there, no gear and red food/water. Respawned.

2. Played for another hour or so, looged to have dinner and when I rejoined... gender selection... crap.

3. Played for another good hour and a half, logged out to join the guild majority on another server and when I re-joined I was in the previous life (no.2) in a town where I'd been some 2 hrs ago. I looted said town, headed for the nearest treeline and logged for the night rather confused.

I logged in for a check before work this morning... just to see who and where I was. I was on the most recent life, no.3, prior to the no.2 rollback.

So, it woudl seem that if you ever 'roll back' don't bother, log and try again later, as above, it's slow to update and evetually does catch up. Playing on a 'roll back' seems a waste fo time.

That's alpha for ya, we bitch a bit, accept it and come back for more =)
