Don't want to stir up any shit, but this thread was locked without any reasoning given. Granted, I could probably formulate a million and one reasons as to why, but a post from the mod or admin who locked it would've been nice.

And no, this isn't an open invitation to continue the discussion in here. I just want a response and then this thread can go away.

You will be surprised how childish the community as a whole is. Mods have no problem locking thread that bash Rocket, but apparently allow people likes the YogsCast to have items given to them. It makes me want to avoid the forums entirely as it is filled with nothing more than fanboys who take it as a personal insult if you say DayZ has a problem.

I suspect that for all the posts Rocket disagrees with, there are a subset he does agree with. Just because he did something people were requesting doesn't mean he's caved, it probably just means he formed his own opinion from what people were saying and happened to agree with them.

At the same time, I'm sure he's tried so many other things and thought "screw these guys" and changed nothing.

The one problem I have with this theory, though, is why wasn't it at least mentioned in the patch notes? (Hell, that's the only thing I've been asking in all of these topic.)

I have nothing against balance, but when we're left hanging in the wind as to the actual contents of the game, then I've gotta call a piss poor judgement on the PR's side.

yeah, but if you look at the DayZ as a zombie survival game, then there should really be no sniper rifle higher than the DMR/SVD/M24 - they should be super ultra extra rare by the way, the rangefinder, nvg, silenced weapons, AS50, M107, NVG FAL, L85AW AWS...

I mean seriously the L85A2 AWS was the only good anti-bandit sniper weapon, that's what I used it for, as I'm sure did many other of fellow DayZ player :/

Just wanted to respond to this comment.

So many people shout on the forums that "this is an Alpha stop complaining", but still forget what an Alpha is actually for that it makes me sick. In an Alpha everything is being tested, and overhauled completely, and worked on. You should be fully prepared to have all of your gear taken away from you on a moments notice, not by other players or zombies killing you, but instead by the Dev. Characters should be getting wiped, saved vehicles and tents removed all over the place. Not because there is something wrong with them being in the game, but because you can't have an effective Alpha test if everything is treated as sacred and untouchable. The fact that these types of wipes happen is not surprising, it's the fact that they don't happen more often that is a surprise.

And this is the reason why there is an uproar. If these were a regular thing in the DayZ alpha, nobody would make a peep. But this was out of the blue.
