raptorak 2 Posted May 17, 2012 Right now, there are so many threads and opinions flying out, many of them hoping to make the game easier (slower zombies, dogs, lighter dark bla bla bla). What should happen instead, is that the game should be made even harder. The tears of the players should be the fuel that is used to make the game the harshest game ever created. Bad weather and temperature is a good idea. How about having to maintain your weapon ala Stalker? More and more realistic features should be added; but for every hardship, there should be a counter, and for every solution, a compromise. Cold weather, cold weather clothing; cold weather clothing, quicker to tire when running.Of course, there may be some exceptions. In the end this IS a game, so zombies should have their admittedly ridiculous animations and pathing AI fixed, and inventories should be easier to navigate whilst not presenting the chance of lost gear due to bugs. I also love the fact that essential gear (watch, compass, map etc) has it's own inv space, since limited backpack space definitely treads heavily on the thin line of realism/annoyance.But this game is an experiment as Rocket said. I really hope they keep that idea alive and make this game portray the most most exhilarating, but also the most miserable zombie apocalypse yet imagined. kaibz 8 Posted May 17, 2012 I tend to agree with you.But the cold weather and its consequences features is on the way from the last interview i read of Rocket. However if the game gets too "easy" in the future it may be a good idea to have "hardcore" servers, that way everybody would be happy. terrvik 2409 Posted May 17, 2012 ... for every hardship' date=' there should be a counter, and for every solution, a compromise. Cold weather, cold weather clothing; cold weather clothing, quicker to tire when running.[/quote']This I totally agree with. The game should stay hard as ****, even become harder. You really should need to know your stuff to survive. And there are so many possibilities with this system.Cold weather - Cold weather clothing - Tired - Energy boost of some kind - Even more tired after "crash" - Pass out - Adrenaline shot (?) - Addiction and so onOn kind of an off topic note I really would like to see a wider discussion regarding clothing and how they should work. As most zombie-geeks know the best protection against a bite is thick clothing, but not to big since it is easily grabbed.
fapoo 2 Posted May 17, 2012 It should be realistic. Sometimes you have good weather, sometimes you have bad.It would be pretty dull if every day was a great sunny day for zombie stomping...

sephirotic (DayZ) 1 Posted May 22, 2012 i don´t agree. The game shouldn´t be easier, neither, should it be harder. It should be REALISTIC. I'm not with the casual whinning l4d and cod players, neither am i with the masoquits lunatic asian players, that like to spend 30 hours of their lives training on a single level of tohou memorizing all the possible sequences and actions and mastering relfexes to kill an extremely buffed and overpower monster.ARMA shouldn´t fall in neither extremes.ZOombies shouldn´t run as fast as you, but a single bite on your arm, untreated should lead to a infenction, fever and death in 30 hours if not threated, just like a single bullet in your stomach our lungs should lead to a internal hemorragy and kill you for good. hazzard65 64 Posted May 22, 2012 Agreed, harder... much harder.
n7snk 13 Posted May 22, 2012 you clearly never played arma before, but i do agree with you that the game should become harder. if it will be extremelly hard to survive there will be less killing and killing will be actually reasonable to survive, not just because you are got bored. UbiquitousBadGuy 846 Posted May 22, 2012 No. This is precisely the wrong mentality for the game. Harder for the sake of being obnoxiously difficult is not the end result for this simulation and arguing for it betrays the fact that you are treating this like a game that you need to artificially make more challenging so you can overcome it.Make it more realistic. Not harder. Difficulty is borne out of realism but it can exist without it. Example: Dark Souls is a hard game but it is in no way realistic or portraying any kind of simulation. We do not want to cater to the casuals nor to the 1337 masochists. It's realism first and foremost. Please understand that.

Please understand that.my point is: if the enviroment is really unforgiving, zombies are extremely dangerous and can be killed only with headshot or alot of shots, if there are such things as infections after zombie bite you once or you got shot, if you can starve, freeze and so on, you would glad to see another survivor, because it will be more easy to survive. the only reason why you will kill him is urge need in order to survive. not because you got bored.Let's take humankind for example. We have no claws, no fangs, no fur, no great strenght, we can't see in the dark, we can't run too fast to excape some shit, we can't eat raw meat, we are very vulnerable and mother nature is quite dangerous around us, wolfes, bears any kind of shit, and still we survived as specie and become dominant.why? because all this nightmare and our weakness forced us to group up and socialize in order to survive. we don't live one by one like other animals, because we simply would not survive like that. so thats it.
