where is the best place to find a tent? (in a loot pile, not one that's been used)

Vybor is a good location, it has a store which usually spawns one and then across the road is an office block which spawns stuff too.

Generally a certainty in freshly spawned ATVs. Otherwise, general stores, houses etc.

There are quite a few outlets which supply decent tents.

Walmart seems to have the best quality and the most quantity.

But on topic, I seem to find tents often either in supermarkets and in castles

Might take a while, but just keep trying the supermarkets. I believe they are the best bet. I've even found two in there at once.

I generally prefer to look in the forest / mountain regions of the map as well as along the borders.....but that's just how "I" roll.
