U.B.C.S. Ravin 326 Posted August 15, 2012 I have no issue with you demystifying the loot system. However I'm curious as to your statement about throwing server hoppers into debug forest. I don't see any way to do that without using some sort of hack. I might be missing something (on top of brain cells I mean) so please explain? When you put an object on another individuals location (during this time it was 1.7.1.4-.1.7.2.4) would end up doing a few things and at random.I think how it works is, It would attempt to bring you to a location and register something blocking your path.It would then either-A. Put you somewhere else. (Most likely Debug Forest or right next to the object.)B. Break your legs and make you bleed.C. Kill you.I don't know how it works, I just know this is what it does and I use it a lot. Also, I have not been keeping up if this loot guide even works properly for the recent updates in DayZ. Some people says it does, others say it doesn't, and its far to random to test in a stable game because servers are littered with hackers so I am unable to keep a set of rangefinders to properly test this for more than a day. It sucks. XD
David375 34 Posted February 6, 2013 This has probably been said before, but I am not sure if it is working with the new patch. Was working on 1.7.4.4 for me, gotta test it now.
Svartpepr 0 Posted March 2, 2013 Don't really get the complains , the loot mechanics are awfull most times players enters a high value place takes the good and leaves the bads. Meaning there wont be any thing of value of the next brave soul just couse he was to late after a restart. What these guys are doing is the only propper way to get gear if you count out1. Killing other players 2. Joining a server with costum added buildings donoatios or what ever other sort of things that makes gear spam in masses.3. Hunting camps.4. Cleaning up heli crashes with a heli, ( Harder nowdays on cherno thanks to new system ) Lets not forget that what they are doing is taking a HUGE risk. If i found a squad doing that while i was playing with my team they most likly end up getting killd by uss as we know thier exact position, heck they even firing thier prime weapons thats giving out way to much info.Sorry for my grammar
David375 34 Posted June 14, 2013 This post seems to be getting way too much hate. Thank you for creating a useful guide that taught me what Loot Cycling/Loot farming is. I probably would have never figured this out without you. However, just because I know what it is, doesn't mean I do it just to horde. I usually farm a military site shortly for basic weapons then go LOOKING to be killed. Makes the game more fun when you have a weapon equal to others. Fonebook 126 Posted June 14, 2013 You picked a pretty choice time to resurrect this old post. I it wasn't outdated before, it certainly is now eh? Perhaps this should be locked as it no longer seems relevant. Maybe the OP would like to write a new guide for the new loot reality.
David375 34 Posted June 17, 2013 actually, I still find it works just fine, with a few modifications.

ace5762 (DayZ) 20 Posted August 24, 2013 To the people who are getting upset, you should probably go talk to Rocket about your grievances if you want something done rather than harp on about how the game is 'meant' to be played. It's the job of the designer to set the bounds of the experience and ensure that exploits like this don't crop up.
