So first time playing both Arma and DayZ, I loaded it up and lost my flare trying to equip it lol (this was at night time)

How do you equip (and use) flares? And other items for that matter?

Looking forward to playing tomorrow during day time lmao.

hit F untill you see "flare" on the top right of your screen...this cycles through your "weapons"

I tried that and it just didn't seem to work. All I ever saw was my starting pistol. Then a zombie ate my face.

1. The flares has to be in your infentory. Not in your backpack

2. Press "F" until you see "Flare 10" in the upper right corner of the HUD

3. Press and hold left Mousebutton. Release it to throw

4. Run to flare, scroll the mouse wheel, pick up flare

5. Start to walk

6. YOU ARE DEAD

Careful when you're running with them, discard and replace with Chemlights ASAP. They're a lot safer to move with and don't attract any attention.
