psychopigeon 32 Posted July 8, 2012 This random spawning is cool if you're going solo, but annoying as FUCK if you want to meet friends.

pilot 13 Posted July 8, 2012 Wait, so what your saying is, if my town had a zombie out break I could just tell my Best friend to get in my group so we could wake up next to each other? Please note that in rockets words. "This is an anti-game"Its not meant to make anything easy. Ever. Its an attempt to simulate a Zombie Apocalypse to the best balance of crazy hard difficulty and crazy addictive morphine looting. teih 36 Posted July 8, 2012 I agree. It is in dire need of 'group' tools. Chat' date=' voip, spawns, etc...[/quote']Maybe a system that spawns you and your friend/s at a random spot near the coastline, x distance from other players. Clunky as hell, but a lot better than nothing.Currently stuck where I loged out. I can't leave the area or I'll just leave my friends behind, and this is especialy troublesome for my friends who can't play as often as me.Its not meant to make anything easy. Ever. And that is nothing but a good thing, but for the people who can't play too often, spending 20 + minutes just running to find your friends every time they log in isn't exactly optimal. LeOverlord 150 Posted July 8, 2012 'TuffWalk your happy ass to your friend. If you die, sucks, now get together with friend/s over teamspeak, mumble, vent, w/e. Pick a spot and regroup, on your way there gear yourself up.Problem fixed, and if your friend was able to recover some gear, gratz

For story reasons, there is no reason 2 people couldn't start off together on this journey. Once you are equiped though, you should probably have to start over to spawn together again. Just have to stick together...it is a harsh world.Unless you're a drooling idiot that shouldn't be posting that is.. ;)

Now that I think about it, it would break immersion to just teleport together again at will.
psychopigeon 32 Posted July 8, 2012 lol at the 'realism' tards, this game is far from realistic, it's got ZOMBIES in it. What an absurd argument against grouping together. The fact these super zombies hear you from miles away means just one zombie is game over. Try and find a weapon? Tough, one zombie at least will be there waiting and you have nothing to fight it with. At least let me punch the fucking thing

Partypants Pete 7 Posted July 8, 2012 You don't have to spawn in the same city. If you're close it makes far more sense for each of you to loot the city you start in and then run to each other. If you die, oh well. You're in noob status and you're not losing anything and maybe you respawn closer the next time. If someone spawns in Kamenka, someone else in Komarovo, and someone else in Elektro it's not that hard for everyone to meet north of Chernog.

Noobs don't know wtf a 'Chernog' or w/e other place is.I just know what you really mean to say is people should just hit 'respawn' untill they are close, in which case, you would instantly fail this discussion. Partypants Pete 7 Posted July 8, 2012 If I meant to say that I probably would. I read the noob forums before starting and clearly remember a stickied post asking people not to continually respawn until they're at a good spot and I've carried that mentality with me my entire gameplay experience. If I spawn in Otmel and have to run to Kamenka to meet up with my brother it is what it is. It's a part of the gameplay experience and, as of now, is how the game is designed to be played. If you were supposed to continually click respawn until you found a good spot then I have a feeling the game would have been built with a "Where do you want to spawn" button. If they add that in later I will gladly use it. Until then *shrug*Oh, and the Hawkward picture makes me chuckle anytime I see it in a forum so thank you for giving me that chuckle.Edit: And even not knowing the map there are plenty of resources for seeing the map online. I googled it my first day. It seemed common sense to me.
lev 39 Posted July 8, 2012 I don't see an issue with letting friends spawn together, though it should be implemented in such a way you can't choose the location to spawn, rather just at the same random location. To the authentic/realism crowd: please don't get started, the settings in DayZ are far from realistic and there is nothing unauthentic about letting friends spawn together. x13x 5 Posted July 8, 2012 yeah, having a group option would really add value to the game. i have found myself spawning multiple times to get even remotely close to my friend then just taking upto 1hour running together then just to be killed by a bandit when you get like 300m away.authentic/realism dont think would count here because given the survivors position, seems to me that the zombie outbrake happend when he/she was out hiking (backpack torch ect..). and many people go hiking in groups.though i could be wrong about the story line behind this, and i havent botherd to read into it. and im sure atleast 1 person is going to comment, calling me a noob or somthing along them lines. "This is an anti-game"Its not meant to make anything easy. Ever. Its an attempt to simulate a Zombie Apocalypse to the best balance of crazy hard difficulty and crazy addictive morphine looting.[/quote']Because zombies are real, right mate? No what he's saying, let me break it down into kindergarden terms for you.You see, the OP wants to play with friends, something you're clearly oblivious to. What he's saying is if he feels like playing with people that he has a friendly relationship with, then he should be able to without beating the fuck out of the respawn button. You follow me yet? No? Ok I'll keep explaining. He feels like he should be able to spawn with his friends, so he can play with them, without having to spend X amount of time running, with the possibility of getting ganked by (probably someone with your mentality) a griefer. You see, DayZ is not all about camping with a sniper rifle, shooting someone just for the fuck of it, they have various towns for you to search, cars to fix, people to interact with granted they don't shoot you in the face the second you smile at them, and that's just the tip of the iceberg! How many apocalypse movies have you seen where it's nothing but a bunch of primitive, barbaric mindless slaughtering, where NOBODY worked together?Thought so.Everyone wants to cry realism, what if rocket lays down the hammer, gives you babies what they want, and completely runs the game into the ground, and nobody plays it anymore? Would you feel like playing a video game where everyone shoots on sight, nobody works with anyone, and it's all just a bunch of rampant douchebaggery, I'd give you a week. machomanugget 26 Posted July 8, 2012 why should you be allowed to spawn with your mates, so instantly you have the edge over a single player by there being two of you?nah this should never happen ever... if you want to meet up pick a spot on the map and meet up..and on a side note respawning more than once on the trot should give you a 15 minute ban.
