Deadly7 2 Posted July 8, 2012 Leave the hatchet the way it is, its fine. Since the hit detection is so bad I think we do need a non degrading axe. Now, once Rocket fixes the hit detection then he should consider lowering the hit count to degrade the hatchet to a useless hub. You have to admit the hit detection is terrible atm, im sure once its fixed and accurate people wouldnt mind a degrading axe.
soapmak3r 677 Posted July 8, 2012 The hatchet is a great weapon...Preferable to the Lee Enfield most of the time. I just spent over an hour looting Elektro with just a hatchet, totally stealth from other players...With the hatchet, you can pretty much not worry about aggro-ing zeds because if you do, you can just stand there, wait till they are in range and take them out silently.I actually think we should have the option to have a pistol, rifle and a melee weapon available at all times (if you have them).Half the time I find myself considering dumping a shotgun or the enfield just to be able to use the hatchet... Dazed 80 Posted July 25, 2012 How is a hatchet overpowered? You're cracking open the zombies head.
Ssgt_Perez 35 Posted July 25, 2012 Hatchet is probably my most used item in game. Whenever I start a fresh survivor I hit up industrial/farm locations till I have a hatchet then I just cleave my way through the nearest major city till I have food/drink/medicine then move up north. Mr. Packard 15 Posted July 25, 2012 Yeah, my primary weapon always feels pretty useless when I'm not defending myself from other players. It's usually not a good idea to use against zombies. I wish I could bring out the hatchet more often. That said, it did bite me one time when a zombie one shotted me to the ground and I laid there unconscious while he ate me. Afgoo 114 Posted July 25, 2012 Soon, rocket will implement persistent ammo counts, forcing players to manage their ammunition use carefully and making every zombie fight a costly one. I have snipers on overwatch and an M1911 in my belt for other players.Dunce. I just want you to know it doesn't please me to do this, but I must obey your wishes. MDRN Buddha 4 Posted July 25, 2012 I use this exact tactic when I have been killed and have to start over. I just go to the building under construction outside Cherno, normally there is atleast a hatchet and thats what I use inside cherno so I can move fast and silent to gear up. jmido8 62 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) Aggro'd zombies should give out a battle call if you don't kill them fast enough. This way, if you're using your hatchet instead of mowing them down with guns, you'll still attract extra zombies from afar. It'll put a heavier emphasis on stealth and survival since there is no easy way to handle zombies, aka the hatchet. Edited July 25, 2012 by jmido8
sixbarns 217 Posted July 25, 2012 I think the hospitals are overpowered. Definitely the morphine.
