I strongly suggest joining a server with side channel as there's much more friendlys, less bandits, and even more teamwork. Oh wait, sorry there's hardly any teamwork without side channel. I just suggest joining US78 as it gots side channel/works fine.Edit- I disagree with the post below me. That's a good way to go, but servers with side channel generally have more friendlys. Imho the most successfull approach is probably to play this with a group of friends that you know from other games and treat any1 that is not part of that group as hostile. When I could still access the game(before the stupid "This server is running an incorrect version of the server side application. You cannot play on this server. If you are the server admin, please contact the DayZ staff." error)I was able to meet up with several good people in the game. It was as if most of them were nice, except one FNG tried to hatchet a bunch of people and got shot, and then the guy who shot him killed two other people because they were shooting at stuff and then considered becoming a bandit-yes, I witnessed a man becoming a bandit for the first time.But anyways, side chat REALLY helps. gambla 118 Posted July 7, 2012 I'll shoot only other armed players when they come too close. Just got a weapon after respawn, i met an unarmed survivor in a little town, so he wasn't a threat. I instantly chatted "friendly", but no response. Even there were lots of Zeds around, he was running around like mad. The problem is that it does need only one player in a thousand that kills you on first sight, game over. I'd love to make some friends too, but Surviving is the goal, nothing else.
