Pyongo Bongo 235 Posted May 23 That was in the game for a long time. Small guns and pistols turned almost immediately. Big guns lagged behind the camera a bit.

Take the firearm with 60rnd mag and try to turn around while aimed with it. You'll found that most of peoples will cry that you're violation weapons rules, meanwhile you'll found that weapon is really go bit slower and you required to push it for saving stance and weapon response. It's fine stuff that's happening even in real world idk if you have MG friends in airsoft ask them about heavy MGs and ttry the same, it's weight would be about 4 - 5 kg. And you will find that's an issue in the game same as in the real world 😄

I think the current implantation is fine but if be honest heavy weapons like AKM + 75rnd Drum (4.7kg + ~ 0.7 kg PSO + 0.6kg suppressor + 1.5 kg drum = 7.5 kg or 16.53 lbs), or DMR (M14 5.1kg + 1.2kg = 13.89 lbs) anyway if heavy, so I think it shall be harder to manipulate with rifle 🙂

The gun turn speed is completely up to the players hand on how faster they can turn with the mouse. What i am asking for is a limitted speed on which gun can turn around at.
Riddick_2K 174 Posted May 24 Have you noticed that the consumption of weapons, tools, shoes is simply "absurd" (not slightly out of the norm). Have you noticed that the doll eats like a pack of wolves but never becomes obese? Plants that grow, flower, fruit, wither and rot in a few hours?!? To mention the most glaring absurdities, but also other things "completely out of reality" impact the realism of the game much more than a bit of inertia in moving a weapon. The setting up of tents, fences, the general management of vehicles (as well as their behavior), the cold (very different clothes = minimal difference), the damp (waterproof clothes should remain dry... only matches suffer the humidity), etc... And do you mind the "poor inertia" of movement of the weapons?!? Did you notice everything else?!? No bother at all?!? I do not understand... 🙄 😕 😞

And even if it were, what does the inertia of a weapon per lap have to do with "balancing"? Balancing compared to what else?!? The concept of "weapon balance" (and accessories) makes sense to me only in small FPS arenas... disconnected from any specific context and built only to exterminate each other for "sport" or "competition". DayZ is NOT (or should not be) a "small competitive FPS arena", but a large, complex environment that "should" simulate a pandemic survival situation. Already like this what it is like, for me, it's too "arcade"... let's leave aside the "CoD" talk, and try to make DayZ more "plausible" (why talk about realism, with a game based on a disease that doesn't exist, is a bit "strange") possible to a situation like the one he is "trying" to simulate. The problems in becoming one are much more "macroscopic" than a bit of inertia in the guns per lap... 🤨

lakevu 98 Posted May 24 if you want to hop on the change train for things like this i recommend you scrolling down to a post below this one titled "dayz's flawed foundations: movement and gunplay" where it very much encapsulates things like this one. its going to be much easier to advocate for this change if there is one comprehensive post like the one i made and people add their support and sharing of that one. give it a look if its something you find correct

This isnt competitive balancing this is just a way of fixing the run and gun meta, people swishing their mouse around because the game allows them too. Riddick_2K 174 Posted May 25 (edited) I'm not saying you're wrong... I'm just saying that in DayZ, if you consider a "verisimilitude of the context" the problems are very different and macroscopic. The "scarce" inertia of the largest weapons is very little compared to the ENORMOUS consumption of shoes, tools, food, etc etc... You are complaining about a "finger in the eye" (which really hurts), when you are without an arm, with a sprained ankle and two broken ribs. I would worry about taking care of the rest first 😉 My 5 cents... obviously 🙂 Edited May 25 by Riddick_2K
Pyongo Bongo 235 Posted May 25 This was already in the game, so I can give you info on what it would be like 🙂 I did appreciate the bit of realism yes, but it felt really weird and unnatural. I don't think this certain feature would be worth it, I don't think it can be implemented in a good way. It felt really wrong and annoying and I think that may be why it's no longer in the game. And I don't think it's me being a baby who can't handle hardcore mechanics, I am a hardcore lover, it was just a feature that can only be implemented really akwardly.
