Blippy 26 Posted July 6, 2012 Just because it's a zombie survival shooter, does not mean it's copying DayZ.
mr_plores 1 Posted July 6, 2012 Yeah i know. But the concept seems pretty familiar. Big fan of the comic and the series tho. I'll sure ass hell check it out when it comes out.

Robert512 12 Posted July 6, 2012 Miles apart when it comes to game play. And I would not hold my breath for it.
septuscap 42 Posted July 6, 2012 How is this anything like DayZ. This mod doesn't have a monopoly on zombies -- it's not even the only (or first) zombie mod for ArmA2. IMO what DayZ brought to the table was the union of lobby servers + persistence. I honestly had never seen that before, and it's a cool way to get MMO-style gameplay for "free." But I'd still rather just have it be a real MMO and eliminate server hopping, low-pop farming, avoiding night-time, etc. Not to mention all the bonuses of 2000+ concurrent players, bigger maps, etc.

This whole thing is a huge experiment.
justwrath 23 Posted July 6, 2012 i find the mentality that same genre games are copying off of others that came before. here's a little newsflash. that's how games have evolved from Pong to what we have today. Besides, if you actually read the article, you'll see there isn't much in common between the games.
Baked_Beans_Benelli 0 Posted July 6, 2012 What did you say? A COD game with a Daryl skin? no thanks. DayZ is the only zombie game I plan on playing for quite some time.
n7snk 13 Posted July 6, 2012 err there were zombie mods for ofp 2001, arma 1, arma 2 BEFORE dayz. and some of em are better then dayz. the only thing dayz unique is that character data is saving. thats the only thing why mod is "unique"
Baked_Beans_Benelli 0 Posted July 6, 2012 It's unique because it's one of the few games that you aren't the one man who can kill the entire zombie apocalypse. It's one of the very few zombie games that actually focuses on survival and the human aspect. Most other zombie games are just mindless hack and slash Evil Dead gorefests.
