For those who don't like pvp..

Recommended Posts

So, it gets taken out due to the complaints and the cries of many. What do you do now that makes this game so interesting? Where is the risk/reward?

The problem is, there really isn't anything to do once your fully geared BUT PvP... Helping new players with a full gear set is only going to get you shot in the back.

Right, so i don't get why so many people want it out? It really is the only thing left to do worth getting your heart pumping again.

I would really like to hear someone out who hates pvp in this game to tell me why they want it out and what would make this game so interesting after that.

I have no problem with the PvP but I regularly get irked when I've done all I can possibly do to check an area out before moving and get hit by a sniper who is, I can only guess, hundreds of metres away and camping just to get kills for the 'tears'. I'm quite happy with PvP as a part of the game but when a person has decided that all they want is to stake out a town from distance and kill players there is very little that can be done to ameliorate the risk (especially if working as lone-wolf or small band). It isn't really PvP then imo.

It seems to me (and I'm happy to be wrong) that it is too easy for snipers to get one hit kills from great distance.

My solution? Remove scopes from the game. Keep the rifles and zeroing etc but then it'll take a lot more skill to hit from range and will encourage 'fair' PvP, where you have to be up close-ish and personal.

Hunt for animals, living off the land.

Left 4 Dead was solely based on shooting AI zombies, and that was extremely fun with a group of people. Once Rocket and his team fix the buggy zombies, I'm sure it'll be a good option instead of the desire to constantly kill human players.

People don't get upset about PvP. They get upset about being shot as soon as they spawn by a jackass with a M107 and nothing better to do. Then respawning and getting killed by a jackass with a DMR, a ghillie suit, and nothing better to do. Then respawning and getting chopped to death by a guy on the coast with a hatchet and nothing better to do. And on, and on, and on.

I kinda doubt that. There's no investment there to get upset about, which both makes it unlikely people will get upset about dying there and less likely to find such rare and equisite rifles on the coast. I snipe places like NWAF, Berezino and other areas where people are likely to have amassed some decent loot first :D

It's just a game, yet people get bitter when they lose and want to take the ball home. Personally I only get bothered by a death of any sort if it's due to Hive problems, if only because I was hoping to die from a bullet.

But when you are a new player, and you are already dealing with the steep learning curve that DayZ has, it gets frustrating. Then they come here and post/vent about it and people who have been playing for a while tell them to STFU NOOB GO QQ ON MINECRAFT. When the best weapon you've ever had is a Makarov, and it took you 45 mins to find that (because you don't have loot spawns memorized) getting killed still sucks.

I've managed to get Pked only twice, and one of them was a misunderstanding (I believe). But I hear about it all the damn time. And I've seen snipers set up along the coast, shooting players, and not even bothering to look at the bodies (clearly just killing for the sake of it, not interested in gear).
