Gasoline/match burn down houses with or without persistence. The possibilities!!!!!! Houses would be replaced with a destroyed house. Still spawn loot. With persistence this would be absolutely amazing between updates and server wipes. 

Flaming arrows anyone?

You refer to it as crazy because you’re aware that this would take an incredible amount of time and resources to implement while not really adding all that much to the gameplay loop?

Withing a month people would burn down 90% of the map just for laughs. Also servers would melt trying to process hundreds of burning buildings.
