Two Anti-Cheat Suggestions

Recommended Posts

Two Anti-Cheat Suggestions, but first a heartbreaking story:
In two days, the cheater killed me 2 times, at a distance of 500+ meters, two hits in the head from a small caliber through the wall (not in an open space, but in a building)
The first and second ideas can be combined with what is written in postscript.
First: I, as a poorly versed player, see the work of cheats in this vein - They intercept traffic coming to iron processing without interfering with the game code, which is why the anti-cheat cannot detect it, it was good to do something with it (updating Anti cheat)
Second: Add the ability to view all the information about the kill through the command, for example, who killed you, what weapon he used, the distance of the kill, where he hit, whether there were obstacles for the cartridge he shot, the wall, the fence, and the time of the kill, and so save all such information about the user and the ability to send a complaint to him, so that one of the employees looks at the date, time, all the player's logs, and if he really used the software - Ban by steeam id, ip, and hardware.

Postscript: In case there is not enough funding for such initiatives, I have a proposal to introduce an analogue of the battle pass, for example, every half a year the player pays $6 (This is the amount that I spend on coffee every day, I will not be sorry) And gets the opportunity go to the section with enhanced anti-cheat which is constantly updated and a high level of player support, if 6$ is not enough, you can 10$ ^-^

so that one of the employees

And that's where your idea falls apart. Sorry to be so direct, but that's never going to happen on official servers.

While an interesting idea to have premium anti-cheat servers, this still wouldn't stop all cheaters.
Although, it would probably drastically cut the number of cheaters just because it's yet another money gate.

But why pay for that when you can just hop on some good community servers with active admins?

You can't stop it because the way the cheats work is fundamentally different now. Most of these cheats use 2 PC's to achieve their goals. The devs can't, and more importantly, won't, stop it.

I understand that it is possible to make such an anti-cheat difficult, however, I offered alternative options that are very realistic in execution, most players who use cheats on official servers know that they will not get anything for it, just like on community servers, where they will be banned on some separate server, and their steam account will be safe.
Community servers confuse me for two reasons, the first is that most of them have a payment system where you can buy any resources, which makes one of the main mechanics of the game useless, the second is that the person who created the server can do anything with your base , or unbalance the loot spawn.
If you make a paid pass - Most of those who use cheats will think twice about the fact that all statistics are recorded and monitored, if they are convicted, they will lose access to the game from their account, I didn’t just write that the pass will cost 6 - 10 $ for half a year, this is a very minimal amount in terms of a month, six full servers will already provide several employees with salaries, Today I remembered that approximately the same mechanics work in the game counter strike, but if I'm not mistaken, the players themselves do this, but of course there is a much larger flow of people than in Dayz, it would not be bad to at least try to deal with this, and if you are pessimists, you can create your own server and play alone, there will definitely not be cheaters ^-^

So you want people who already paid for the game to pay again just to play it ?

Because that's a brilliant idea if you want to kill the player base. Counter strike is not a good comparison because in CS if I encounter a cheater all I have to do is leave the match and join a different one, hopefully cheater free. There is no real downside to dying by a cheater. In DayZ however cheaters take away your most precious commodity, and it's not the loot, it's the time you invested in finding that loot. Making people pay to access the servers is not a nor should be a solution for non functional anticheat system. Unfortunately unless devs change the service provider or battle eye sorts their detection system you have 3 options.

1. Suffer on official servers

2. Find a pure vanilla server with admins

3. Play something else.

The discussion of rampant cheating in this game has been going for years now and nothing was done about it. It sucks, but unfortunately no one seems to care about it enough to do anything. Most vanilla community servers don't have pay passes, nor will they do anything to your base unless you use it to be an asshole and block important resources nor do they have loot buying option, sure a lot of them have more loot or infinite stamina but plenty don't and there's a lot of them so take your pick. I've been on community server with extra loot and infinite stamina for well over a year now and I'm never going back to official.

When I compared Dayz and CS - It was not about what losses you will incur upon death (loss of loot) But in the very mechanics of banning cheaters, so it seems to me that your claim has no place to be because I did not write anything like that, these are your fantasies.
As for the paid pass, I am not saying that it should be mandatory, on the contrary, I present it in such a way that everything remains as it is now, a standard anti-cheat, but add a paid pass to those players who are ready to pay $ 10 for half a year so that players do not abused cheats, and knew that this could be followed by liability. The only thing I can't understand is your indignation about the paid pass, if you are not interested in official servers, and you use exclusively the "services" of the community, then claims are not appropriate here. Regarding the fact that there is nothing to be done about it, I proposed an ideal option in which the players will be delighted, and the developers themselves will be able to earn extra money, because the amount that I proposed is ridiculous, but if you don’t have that kind of money, nothing is for you will not change, you will play using the BattleEye anti-cheat😉

If you think the devs who seem not to care about the cheating which has been complained about for years now on this very forum will suddenly decide to create official premium server where all the features you talk about about are in place as well as paid admins you have a second think coming. I bought DayZ back in 2013 in early access and 10 years later and I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you but it's not going to happen. And it's not about me or anyone else having that kind of money (if you can refer to $10 as "that kind" of money) it's simply that what your describing is a vanilla community server, most of which are again, free to play, have admins and offer no changes to to what official servers do, which is why there are so many of them (literally thousands) which means your paid pass idea will not attract the crowd you think it might. In fact I'd probably be easier to find a group of like minded people, chip in that $10 each and start your own server with your own admins, hell you can even kindly ask people playing on your server for a small donation to keep it going.
