Dayz Nightime

Hello!

As i understand dayz should be a and is considered a "hardcore" survival experience .  But the thing that has bothered me for a while about this game is the night time.

Going around and looting for things i also notice ALOT OF lightsources scattered around places ( headtorches, flashlights etc...). But i rarely find a use for them or see other players using them. I think its partly because the nights are sooo bright ( unnatturally so... you can see hundreds of meters in the nightime )!!  I remember a time where the nights where alot darker at some point of the games history and it was immersive and made it more dangerous as i think it is supposed to be. ( rather then the midsummer nights we have at this point )

My suggestion is to make the nights DARKER!  ( this will give people the need to use lightsources at the risk of being spotted or to just creep in the dark...also it would add alot more value to the already rare nightvision ...only use iv found for it is in the bunker and helpful durning forests fights at night time  otherwise its easy to go without it )

Try playing on hardcore servers. 3pp servers have lighter nights.

i play mostly on offical servers ...are there different "hardcore" offical servers?

Hardcore in DayZ means first person perspective (1PP), you can filter out 3PP in the server options to be left with some 1PP, even on official although there aren't as many.

thanks for reply...and thoes 1pp servers have a darker night time aswel then?

Game offers 2 night settings: 1) brighter nights and 2) darker nights

Official servers are setup like so: 3PP = brighter nights, 1PP = darker nights + personal artificial light around you that only you see

Community servers on the other hand can change settings to their preference. Almost all hardcore community servers are: 1PP + darker nights + NO personal artificial light around you.
So if you are looking for a more hardcore experience, I suggest finding some good community servers.

2 servers that I know that are vanilla hardcore are: Dusk and Spaggies. There are also modded hardcore servers with reworked medical system, sleeping mod and stuff like that, but I don't know any of them.
