Xbox Series X/S Upgrade?

Recommended Posts

Will we ever see a graphical or fps update for these consoles? I believe the ps already got one awhile ago (correct me if I’m wrong) so I don’t see why Xbox still hasn’t received an upgrade.

im also curious what the ps got in their next gen upgrade, if anyone is able to tell me any differences they noticed.

PS5 got an optimisation patch not long after release as it was locked at 30FPS as per the PS4. I don't think Xbox S/X had that problem on their release.

Over the past year and subsequent updates though, the PS5 performance has noticeably suffered again. It's better than it was on release, but there's a lot of random stuttering/FPS drops and crashing.

As I understand, the Devs confirmed not too long ago that they have no intention of a true next gen (PS5/Xbox X/S) version in the pipeline.

It makes you wonder why the devs bothered creating a console version if they weren't planning to keep it paced with PC development. I think a lot more people would come to DayZ if the console version was solid and carried more maps than just Livonia and Chenarus.

Personally, I don’t wonder at all. It was for money. Many sacrifices were made so BI could get money from console people. Pretty simple business decision, I guess.

More interesting, I think, is the idea that more maps would attract more consumers. I would disagree, especially with current staff levels.

Yea, the staff levels are a big factor. But, in most other games that come with multiple maps, like Call of Duty, you wouldn't hear the end of it if that game was released with only two maps. So, I think it's pretty safe to say that more maps would help. It means more choices. And nothing makes gamers happier than having multiple choices. But, I understand that staff size is probably affecting development. At the moment though, it appears that the console version of the Experimental servers are not carrying the new Livonia map update. I hope that changes soon.
