GhomerGhamer 0 Posted April 19, 2022 so i know some changes were done to cars in the 1.17 update, but im really confused as to what they were trying to do. STARTING the car is better, it's a short hold on the mouse and then it just starts. also, you can now get the + heat buff after riding in the car. BUT that's where the positives end. bouncing and glitching seems worse now than it was before. truck back axles heave and twitch even while sitting still, ignition off, and you can hear lots of tire squeal noises, and it leaves tread marks on the ground under and around the rear tires. they stay glitching rapidly while driving, causing slow acceleration vs when they stop glitching (same stretch of road). i also noticed that while driving on rough terrain, the wheels would stop spinning randomly, which ive never noticed before. i was driving the Gunter at about 5kph turning a sharp corner in one of the towns and the car suddenly leapt about 10 feet in the air, turned 90 degrees to the right, and landed on a rail next to the sidewalk. ive never had glitching at that low of speed before. glitching at high speed feels worse and more severe than previously, with the car lunging forward and backward 50-100m in some cases, also hopping into the air. and the oddest part i noticed today, I GOT SOAKING WET driving the car with all doors and windows in the rain. ive never gotten wet in the car before in the rain if it had the driver's door on. all of these were tested on 3 separate installs on 3 different computers, all were repeatable. no logs were created from all of these glitches. this isnt asking for support from the forum, i just wanted SOMEONE to know about it, and to see if others are noticing similar things. Have you upgraded to a wired internet connection yet? WIFI is known to be unreliable for gaming.
Parazight 1599 Posted April 19, 2022 Dont listen to Gamerwarrior2000. He's a known troll, his post history is a clear indicator of this. Yea. Cars are a known issue. The DayZ brand manager and PR guy said that they would be trying out a new version of the engine (that handles cars) to improve vehicle physics. This was supposed to be done in the 'coming weeks', but that was months ago. I recommend not expecting any improvements. 1
