# Construction in DayZ. Problems and suggestions.

Recommended Posts

I apologize in advance for my bad English..

Hello, I propose to consider a few problems related to building in the game:

  • 1. The player may appear on the territory of your base. I underestimated this problem until I personally encountered it. And as it happened: We built a small base in one of the sheds, but as it turned out, there was another player on the territory of this shed (He left the game in this shed), he went to the server and ended up on the territory of our base in the storage with equipment . He could not get out and so he broke everything he could, after which he again left the server.
  • 2. Players can build something in your base. Some players built up the only exit from our base with a gate and a 4-digit lock.

Now let's see how the above problems can be fixed:

  • I suggest adding player (Base Owner) authorization to the DayZ using a flagpole. Each player can add himself to the authorized list or remove everyone from this list.

  • All unauthorized players, when reappearing on the server, will not be able to appear on the territory of the base, but will be sent to a random place on the map (As when jumping between official servers). Authorized players may re-enter the server in the same place where they left earlier.
  • All unauthorized players within the radius of the flagpole will not be able to build anything. Authorized players can build anything

Other suggestions for building improvement.

  • I propose to expand the list of available improvements for the fence. You need to add a metal mesh that can be placed in slot "Camo Net".

  • Metal Mesh can be found along the corresponding walls scattered throughout the map.

  • After installing the metal mesh on the fence, it can be connected to the electrical network using wires.

  • Players that are too close to a metal mesh wall (which is connected to electricity) will take shock damage.

If you have any suggestions for improving the construction, write them here!

electric fences would be really good especially if it caused radius damage. it's a good idea but I don't think the devs will implement this. vanilla base building has remained stagnant since flag poles were implemented.

Metal mesh seems like a great idea. DayZ needs more traps/defensive mechanisms.

Not sure if authorization list would fit DayZ, but the idea seems interesting.

Having generator running to power your face give away the position of your base to nearby players. Then would either just have to wait for it to run out of fuel or ruin with guns or grenades.

I don't agree with authorisation. If you chose to make your base in a building you have to accept the risk that someone might have logged out in that building.
