THEGordonFreeman 664 Posted December 2, 2021 That is a serious question. I don't know how the business relationship between Battleye and game companies work, but their product is pretty much crap considering the VOLUME of Anarchy and other Youtuber's videos clearly showing hackers within the game. ESP hacks are the big one. I know it's difficult, because it's used outside the game space and overlays onto the game, but it seems to me that if these Anti-Cheats were serious, they would offer a huge ass reward for anyone that shows them how to detect ESP usage. If you kill ESP in DayZ, 90 percent of the egregious hacking problems go away. There has to be a way to detect ESP being used on the local machine outside an admin mod from within the game. Why can't this be done?
Homeschooliazon 87 Posted December 2, 2021 Unless there are just thousands and thousands of hacker and new hackers again and again flooding DayZ, Battleye has COMPLETELY not held up their part of the deal. They get paid to keep the game hacker free right? Then Bohemia should get a huge refund. The MAJORITY of the time the past YEARS the public servers have been riddled with hackers. Often you can't play for longer than 30 minutes on 3pp public high pop without dropping instadead inside a house with no line of sight to anyone. It has been absolutely ridicoulusly hacker ridden. How can they fail THIS bad? Is it just really easy to get really cheap DayZ keys in some parts of the world, so that hey can just make new hack accounts every day? Can they not detect the hacks? Are the hack creators hacking geniuses that make impossible to detect hacks? This has been a major flaw of the game for years now, anyone who considers buying this game should know that they HAVE to search for a proper community servers unless they don't mind being griefed (with hacks hhehe). What really interests me is all hackers i ever spoke to said that they were from china or sounded like they had a similar accent, except for the american friendly hacker who told me he hacks to kill hackers haha. How come? Especially in this game getting hacked ruins the experience. There was a period of a few months where every time i got exceptionally rare loot I instantly got killed by a hacker before i could use it (My whole squad drops dead spread across the whole town in buildings at the same time and so on), this really takes away any wanting to play if the whole gameplay (loop) has the reward part taken out. Other than that my favorite game ever 🙂
THEGordonFreeman 664 Posted December 3, 2021 Open world games area hackers paradise. Every open world game suffers from hackers unless they allow private servers, then you usually have to find a community with decent people who don't suffer from admin abuse. GTA V and RDR2 both suffer from ridiculous hacking, but with DayZ and PUBG and other shooter games, it's worse because of ESP. And moreso with DayZ because it is unforgiving and you start fresh, ESP kills player experiences especially on Official servers.
nemorus 266 Posted December 3, 2021 (edited) Battleye isn't "crap". It's a money maker - and a kind of a parasite. Creates problem and live on top of it. Edited December 3, 2021 by nemorus
THEGordonFreeman 664 Posted December 5, 2021 Question: How do you know when your Anti-Cheat is not worth a damn? Answer: When content creators focus pretty much on catching cheaters in your game instead of making content about how wonderful your game is. There are now a couple of dozen DayZ content creators solely making videos about catching cheaters. The granddaddy that showed them the way is Anarchy. He has other gameplay videos and stuff from other games, but his bread and butter is catching cheaters in DayZ. It's really sad this is necessary and the game suffers for it. But like the current state of vehicles, BI doesn't seem to care.
RRoses 2 Posted December 6, 2021 When there is a will, there is a way. As it stands, there is no 100% effective way to close off the function system to the user during gameplay. One effective and demonstrated way would be to move EVERYTHING server-side/-authored, but this is not practical in any way for a game like DayZ. For now, You'll just have to deal with it... Or make your own server with curated people who can only connect using cloud-streaming services.
