Launchit00 0 Posted October 18, 2021 (edited) Hi all, I guess this is an age old topic that everybody has good and bad opinions on. I started playing Dayz on PC as PVP, I played like this for a while until i started hearing abut PVE servers so i thought I would give it a crack. Having been playing PVE for a while i honestly cant see myself going back to PVP, the frustration of being killed as a fresh spawn by geared up players really gets to me. I got playing with a couple of guys and they would log onto the servers while it was low population and then run up to Tizzy get geared then run back to the coast and log out until later. When the server filled up they would log on and basically farm fresh spawns, then when they died would log off and rinse and repeat the next day....theres no fun in that, zero skill. So myself and 3 friends decided to start up our own server, its called PVE R.I.P We have made the game style challenging and are looking for players and feedback All welcome, no PVP though the map is challenging enough !! Whatever your gaming style if you like to run alone or team up it's a place for you Cheers Edited October 18, 2021 by Launchit00

Tonyeh 454 Posted October 18, 2021 I've had more friendly interaction on Esseker, a purely PvP map, than I have ever had on Chernarus. As for PvE, the only way to make that challenging would be to make survival very, very, difficult and something that the player would need to focus on completely. So, you have to get rid of most of the animal spawns and eliminate most of the food spawns too. Also you'd have to cut down on the warm clothing spawns. Otherwise it's all just too easy and gets boring after a while.

On our R.I.P server surviving is difficult because of the challenge of the dangerous animals and other modded features We have custom areas of the map some more dangerous than others. The survival element on PVP servers is lost, I've played on many servers where even fresh spawns run in to try to kill you even though you have nothing. I'm not against that style of gameplay it's just not for me.....after 3 hours of collecting supplies getting snipered of someone sitting safely away hiding on a hilltop for no other reason than just to kill you....pointless
