I didn't aim to make this suggestion realistic in any way but I do believe this suggestion is decent enough to be thrown out here. --------------------------------------------------------------- In my personal opinion, players should have more choices / flexibility to choose the vest they want to wear as well as managing its weight and protection. A player would be allowed to choose the type of plate the vest would carry, allowing the player to manage its weight and protection as well as allowing the possibility to choose the cosmetic (vest wore). I assume the "meta" will remain the same or at the very least close or similar to what it is currently (hard plate / plate carriers), but allowing the player to choose gives a good sense of freedom of choice and consequences. Probably will be more popular on RP servers, but could also allow players of a wider variety of gameplay to mod and customize more types of vests and armors in the game. Also, not knowing the exact type of protection your opponent carries also change the dynamic of the game and change strategy you employ to successfully take your opponent down. --------------------------------------------------------------- Add Tactical Plate Carriers (Plate Carrier Cosmetic Variant). Add Hard Plates. (Plate Carrier equivalent) Add Soft Plates. (Press Vest equivalent) Add Tactical Plate Carrier Fabric. Add Existing Vests Fabric. Make Vest Fabrics repairable with sewing kits and/or leather sewing kits. Make Plates repairable with Hammer and/or Metal machines from Metal shops. Make Plates 3x3 inventory space. Change protection value of Plates based on their durability. Change weight of vests based on Plates (+ inventory). Keep spawns for vests, but add chances that it spawns with plates relative to the tier and zone the vest spawns. Allow Plate Carriers to carry Soft and Hard Plates. Allow Tactical Vests to carry Soft Plates. Allow Field Vests to carry Soft Plates. --------------------------------------------------------------- I did not include another variant of Plate relative to the Stab Vest because I don't know much if at all about vests. I personally rather leave it to whoever wishes to add to this suggestion and if ever implemented I trust BI to balance it out with the help of the community.
