Low budget SSD

Recommended Posts

Hello,

i have a Ryzen 5 3600, 16 go 3600mhz ram and a rtx 2060, and i still get stutters, im using a old hdd at the moment and i want to buy a SSD , is a "Crucial BX500 120 Go" or a "Kingston SSD A400 120 Go" good enough ? i know that 120 go is not big but ill only put dayz on it.

Also , whats the minimum reading speed i should get for my SSD to run dayz ? i cant find any info about that on forums

At the least get 250 gb. You want to put your OS and your games on it. It has no benefit to Just put DayZ on there.

Best bang for your Buck is a mk.ll goes directly onto your motherboard.

But on a budget get a 250gb Samsung evo.

Remember buying cheap means rebuying fast. (All HDD and SSD have a certain amount of writing/reading before they start to go bad)

An SSD won't make the game run any better.

Since when? SSD helps always. Be it loading Times or pre rendering.

You might see a better load time, but that's about it.

I have Dayz running on an SSD and an HDD and the difference isn't anything to write home about.

This was typical scenarios running off my hard drive. Obviously, unplayable. Moving DayZ to an SSD fixed it. Didn't fix apparent memory leak gobbling more and more RAM and after 30 minutes, 1 hour, causing stutters and frame drops.

I can't say that I have ever seen anything as bad as that. Whether on my current 7200RPM HDD or my old 5400RPM one.
