Helicrash loot

  I took a break from the game just a bit before 1.09 and now (2 weeks ago) i'm back.
 Point is, i remember reading this on 1.09 patch notes "Rare helicrash loot is now opted out from count in cargo of player-owned storage items (tents, crates,..)"
but thing is, i haven't found any "rare" weapons so far on heli, nothing but vaiga or some clothies and ghillie, even for some fresh spawn heli i couldn't find anything (yes, i'm sure it was a fresh spawn).
 So, is something wrong happening or am i just incredibly unlucky?

Heli crashes have been rubbish.

Best thing I've got from hours of heli hunting has been a gillie wrap from my gun and a 40 rnd mag. 😕

So, of course, Dayz makes a liar out of me. The last session, I found a VSS and an AKM with a silencer attached.

I have been half a year searching for the normalised suppressor.

I came here tis evening to even see if the helicopter spawns were still a thing since I have note been able to find one, and you gentleman are arguing the loot tables. OK good. I have not been wasting my time. I kinda had a clue though when I found a mossy ghillie hood insomeones stash... but this solidifies it. What bout thes4e X-mas trees? are these in game or not yet? I would love to find a VSS. Maybe an AUG. Or best yet- A claymore mine! although a M203 RPG underbelly attachment for Smoke/frag propelled grenades with thermal vision & battery would be super kind.

Premised that my only experiences with helicopter crashes depend on my private server, where I drive around with a car and have increased the number of crashes a bit, as well as certain loot items. I've never seen one on public servers yet.
However, I believe that all these difficulties mainly depend on the spawning system of the game's items.
Me too, in my private server where at the moment I play alone and I have increased the spawn in general (without exaggerating, I do not want a "ridiculous" game) ... in heli-crashes I find mainly banalities. The rarest weapons are in fact ... rare 😄
To get a 75-round x AK magazine I had to increase the maximum number of this items a lot ... and I'm still waiting to find the second one (then I put the maximum number back down).
And in my server I'm the only one who owns and stores weapons 😄
Regardless of what you write in the xml files, it is the object spawn system that is a bit "weird".

Don't overestimate the VSS, it's not a great weapon.
I have not done comparative tests with other weapons, but just in this period I was traveling north to try the VSS and the 9x39. On the distance it also takes 3 body shots for one Z and it is not even well silenced (the DEagle with the suppressor makes much less noise)
On paper, the SVD looks much better with 7.62x54
You should download and install the "DayZ Community Offline Mode" (by Arkensor) and try the various weapons ... even directly against a bear, as I did ... it could change some "beliefs" 😉
Now, as an Anti-Bear, I use a Vaiga with a 20 magazine (all easily available already in Tier3 also in public server) that with buckshot ammunition can kill a bear with 4/6 shots.
When with the .308 Win I had to use 8/10, with the .357 = 9/10, with the 5.56x45 = 10/22, with 7.62x39 = 16/24, with 5.45x39 = 17/24 and with 9x19 even 41 😄
Min and Max depends on where you can hit the bear and I haven't tried any other calibers yet.
