Recommended Posts

Yes. I'm tired to watch to the inside of the house walls. I didn't get the point...we have to survive by the zombies or by the RAIN?! Really?! 15 real mins raining? Is not a bit bored?! Did anyone complaint about it?! What you, BOHEMIA, suggest us (players), to do when is raining so much on? Should we stay cover by the rain and surviving inside the empty houses?! 15 REAL MINUTES....EVEN 10 IS TOO MUCH. IS NOT BETTER TO CHANGE THIS *!@# ?

Rains makes no difference if you have proper clothing not even talking about raincoat etc. You just sprint from house to house if you are looting then dry your clothes once in a while. I tried with 1.10 update where temperature is even harder to maintain. Had no problems what so ever. I can see it being hard if you just spawned but hey sometimes u will starve to death as freshie because bad luck. IF you are really so bad at surviving or only want to kill people there is plenty of modded servers.

The rain is great. Spent 10 minutes in my tent yesterday, while it was lashing outside and planned my next helicopter route.

I always use it for sorting and re-organising my gear etc.

I bought DayZ a week ago, I am very disappointed.
I walk, and I don't find food and I die. (I find cans of food, but I can't open them)
I walk, I get sick and I die. (I don't find remedies)
I drink water from the river and die. (I don't find purifiers or anything to treat the water)
I find weapons, however, I never find a bullet. And if I think and of different calibers. (It's no use!)
Just today, I died about 20 times, I'm really trying to find some way to survive, but I always die.
I am very disappointed, I know that the game needs to be difficult, but it is very hardcore!
This was the 1st game I bought and I was disappointed !!!

It's not an easy game. It's a survival game. It takes time to learn how to play it and survive. It's not exhaustive, but if you think about what you can do in real life you'll get a better idea of what you'll need to do. Search, hunt and fish for food... Stay warm and hydrated. Sneak by crouching around zombies. Don't worry about dying... it'll happen.

Sorry guys...didn't get the point. If you want to have a survival game....needs to be a bit helpful with a new players, right?! Is just a game. Or if there are just old players in the game, what reason is do not help the new players? A trial or something to help them at the beggining? Nothing. OK! F^#%k the new players. But a game to be very attractive on my opinion as a GAMER, needs to be as much as he can be closer to real survive. There is not much realistic. The idea for survival was good but in real life is more easy to survive. In forests: blackcurrants, blueberries, forest horns, sorrel, lots of things which can keep you surviving. (I was living in mountain). Orchards: sure you can find more then just a apple or pear or plum (or to turn in same place later to find more, thats just trick for old players). Or there are some vegetarian zombies eating all the fruits? - I didn't know that. Respawning: whats the reason of heaving only a glowstick, rugs and 1 fruit?! and damaged clothes?! you just get down to Earth from Mars and surprise: zombie land?! Or you just get back human from being a zombie?! No way. A good start of the game it supposed to be a bit more realistic. Idea: you're at work and see the news or people outside acting strange....or more ideas can be not just waking up close the coast almost destroyed.

One more thing which is making very frustrating game, after you'll play couple of hours.......you can loose all your gears just in one second.....glitch...zombies killing you or dead of the sickness from rain or drinking poisoned water.10% to recovering gears back from where you lost them. The rain as I said from the beggining of this topic, yeap.....it is worst thing. I understand that you can run from one house to another, squeeze your clothes. But still you'll get sick. Raining too much...this is what I want to say. Raincoat?! Bulls#/t. I will not drop off the Haunting jacket with 45 slots for 20. Hate to much rain to much waste time. Looks like Noah's time and the ark. That's just my opinion. Is not a game that I have to gave my credits. Livonia?! Less gear even you'll pay for it. About this new changes of the update thats not what the player wants....is what BOHEMIA want to do  more credits. Hope you'll convince later. Good Luck Gamers.

Wrong,

Being spoon-fed is not entertaining.

Oh really, do tell.

You won't change what you do to be successful, you expect them to change the game for you.   Millennials.   You ever try fireman's gear?

as for new players, read the wiki's or forums to find ways to adapt, learn from your mistakes

Premise: this game is NOT very "realistic", but only "very complex" (often in an absurd, illogical and unreal way)
Having said this...

I have read a few really useful tips.
Great fireman jacket and pants and obviously hard to find.
But the first 3 tips to give to any new player in difficulty are these:
1) Use a game map with loot points. You will avoid wasting time and energy for nothing by spinning around without finding anything. When you are born you have to find a road, follow it to the entrance of a city / town and read the name on the sign. So you will know where you are. The rest comes accordingly.
This, in my opinion, is the best:
www.izurvive.com

2)
Read a Wiki about the game. Is the best way to know what you can do, how to do it and the characteristics of various materials, clothes, weapons, food, etc.
I use this:
dayz.gamepedia.com

3)
Always choose low-player servers at first: you avoid most killers and marauders and, above all, you don't have to share the loot with too many people.
The servers have a fixed amount of loot, the more players there are, the more the loot is divided.

The rest comes with practicing and reading the various game forums.
Or, if you can, find a player with some practice, who speaks your language and wants to teach you a little bit of the game by playing.

And...
2 ways to practice more "peaceful" without having to enter a populated server:
1) You can open your own server (the one you can download from Steam) and you can play in a full vanilla server but alone (if you don't open it to the public or friends) and you will have peace of mind from the marauders and you have all the loot for you (and with practice you will also be able to modify the characteristics of the game through XML files)
2) You can use Arkensor's MOD "DayZ Community Offline Mode". This is a bit complex to explain in 2 words, but it allows you to do direct tests of accessories, weapons, animals, infected, etc. and you can modify a lot of things in the game and then transfer them to your personal server through some code obtained and added to the file "init.c"
If you know Italian I can explain how to do it.

Follow at least the first 3 tips and try to play a little ... the rest will come with practice.

😉
