Trev_Bash 9 Posted January 6, 2020 Ok, a proper noob question... Are damaged and badly damaged weapons repairable?. I seem to find my fair share of badly damaged weapons and I've often lugged them around hoping to find some way of repairing them. I've found pliers, screwdrivers, gun cleaning kits and various accessories but so far I've not been able to find anything to fix weapons. I can't really see the point in having broken guns lying around if you can't fix them so I guess I'm probably missing something... ...having said that I've found a few things in game that I don't understand... I mean, just what are capri pants? and why do you find every calibre ammunition except for the one gun you are carrying? sorry I've gone off topic...

See Dayz wiki. 37 minutes ago, Trev_Bash said: ..having said that I've found a few things in game that I don't understand... famepaint 4 Posted January 6, 2020 Gun cleaning kit or duct tape will fix your weapons. I believe like 90% of the items can be repaired with at least one or multiple different repair consumables. sewing kit = most clothing items leather sewing kit = backpacks tire repair kit = tires electrical kit = electronics epoxy putty = helmets and some other plastics ( i think) sharpening stone = knifes and some other melee weapons gun cleaning kit = guns + suppressors duct tape = basically everything lol! And lastly anything can be repaired back to worn condition provided that it was in badly damaged condition and not ruined. Once an item is ruined then chuck it. 1 1

Kean__1 144 Posted January 7, 2020 The only thing I would add is that I would be very careful using a badly damaged weapon as you can easily render it useless when it becomes "ruined". Also, IIRC both damaged and badly damaged weapons have a greater chance of jamming on you. I will use damaged weapons in a pinch but will try and seek out a gun cleaning kit or duct tape to repair it asap. In fact, I always keep one roll of duct tape only for my weapons if I have nothing else. .....footwear is a close second in priority for use of my single roll of tape if shoes are scarce.
