Why aren't all resources being alloted to vehicles

DayZ boasts it's huge map as a pro. Yet the only feasible way to travel is by foot. No one plays this game to break their W and Shift key. Why aren't developers racing to fix cars and add other methods of transportation such as bikes and helicopters?

Hopefully, this 2020 road map they recently spoke about that we'll get sometime in January will address the future of cars and other vehicles.

I somehow doubt we're ever going to get helis or bikes now -- I was hopeful in the past, but now I'm skeptical -- it'll have to come from mods probably.

As for cars, the issue is the server performance and not the car itself, but until they properly utilize multi-cores on the server or change it such that cars are handled client-side rather than server-side, poor-running servers are going to mean poor-running cars unfortunately.
