Stashes in persistant servers on surface or underground?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have used those waterproof bags and backpacks to stash items in them. I did not bury them. How long do they stay, where I have put them? And: How do I prolong the time so that they stay there longer?

Do I have to bury them?

Thanks in advance,

dexic

They will despawn after a set amount of time, usually a few hours. Or following server restarts. The exact amount of time isn't published as far as I know.

ALWAYS bury your drybag stashes, that's the only way of keeping them permanently. Either that or place them in barrels, sea chests or wooden storage boxes. Dry bags must be buried for them to remain on the server.

I ran into a dude building a base up North and after we talked and bartered, I told him one thing I was on the lookout for was a drybag bp (before I knew how easy they are to find along the coast). So I checked back with him two weeks later, and outside his base was a red, empty drybag!! I have no idea how long it was sitting there for, but it makes me wonder...
