Greensek 349 Posted October 18, 2019 Survivors, Last Wednesday's maintenance introduced some issues with the player IDs, affecting the official servers, on all platforms, with many players losing days, if not weeks of progress. On Thursday, to resolve these issues, we had to re-run the whole maintenance process, using Wednesday's backup. Restoring the backup, fixing issues, and testing, had us shut down the servers for most of Thursday. Unfortunately, we were unable to communicate this information to you in real-time, as our marketing team was setting up our presence at EGX 2019, in London. All characters are now as they were before the incident, which means that most of the progress from Wednesday and Thursday is lost and cannot be recovered. We apologize and hope this clarifies what happened in the past few days. Sincerely, The DayZ Team

As much as i appreciate this apology, it still doesn't explain the half assed communication concering the update which brought this whole mess. Why do you guys thought it was a good idea to bring out an update without any information whatsoever? Our community is depending on working communication from you guys, we need to know whats comming, even if its just a small 1.1MB update. Is that so hard to understand? Sincerely, The DayZ Team There definitely has been a huge lack in communication this year, and while this probably can be attributed to a lot of former team members leaving, bringing back bi-weekly, or even monthly status reports would go a long way. Edit: As it stands, the lack of clear communication and progress on some of the more troubling aspects of the game's issues really make this game and community feel like kind of an afterthought. There's been a lot of heavy speculation from the community that DayZ is no longer a priority for BI, and development is pretty much petering out to make way for Arma 4, and huge gaps in communication and consistent problems with core performance in the game, (like cars), don't do much to dissuade that idea. RuffZ 7 Posted October 19, 2019 I see no experimental servers up for North America (South East). when I try to play the EXP version, all servers appear to be offline. Will they be coming back? I was in the middle of having fun with 4 others and now we are all waiting.
