Revolt DLC

Recommended Posts

The only way to show the devs is to not buy the new DLC until the bugs and issues are fixed.
If your not happy with the way the devs have treated you dont waste your money on the DLC.
I personally wont buy it, Im not giving them another penny of my money.

You can't really convince people not to buy it if they are already planning to.  Let's face it, DayZ delivers a gaming experience that you simply can't get from any other PS4 title.  This is as close as any of us will get to an open world, milsim / HC survival experience on console.   As such, it's a bit of a unique situation as there are a lot of people willing to put up with frustrating bugs, glitches, exploits, etc.   ....just like us.

Having said that, I won't be one of those buying the new DLC.  I already paid $50 for this broken mess.  .....albeit willingly since I knew the history of the game but had hoped they were being sincere regarding their drive to set things right as it came to PS4.

To put it bluntly, I am not going to buy a new map while game-breaking bugs like items getting stuck in inventory, inability to load/reload, unable to reload mags, problems opening cans, weapons glitching to the point of being rendered useless, issues transferring items between players/bodies/storage, spike in lag while driving, etc.  I literally have to log out and then back in on average of about 5 or more times in a session because of some of these issues.  Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.

With the announcement of a physical copy release and now the new DLC, it certainly looks suspect.  ......and I can't blame folks for thinking BI was more interested in a cash grab than brining DayZ to the PS4 fans when they went to a full release.  Unless they are simply that confident that 1.05 will resolve many of these issues without introducing more problems, I have to question why they would even think it was ok to introduce a DLC at this point.  .....either that or they are just so out of touch to believe that the game in its current state is acceptable.

Who knows, perhaps some of the gaming media and YT personalities will shed a little light on this fact and question these more recent decisions of theirs to capitalize on what is essentially a broken game.

They're out of touch. Which isn't a criticism, I love Bohemia and their games. But they've always been this way.

I do wish they would fix the bugs, but to me they're not game breaking. As said above, nothing else on PS4 delivers the same zombie survival experience. I love Dayz and waited years to play it on console. I'm not prepared to give up on it so soon after release.

To me some of these bugs are "game breaking" when it causes you to freeze due to lag and get killed by a zombie.  .....or  the gun you spent hours finding and improving gun stops working due to a glitch (and then you get killed).  .....or the car you've been working on for several sessions decides to crash as your screen freezes.    Those are examples of what I call game breaking bugs.  Even though not being able to trade with friends at times or not being able to load your mags, open cans, etc. can be extremely frustrating and should also be fixed, they don't necessarily stop progress all together or will get you killed.

Having to re-log 5 or so times per session is also quite annoying but will sometimes fix some of the less game-impacting glitches but not all the time nor with certain bugs.  Some may even consider that game-breaking and I wouldn't blame them if they did.

The game still provides an experience we are all after otherwise we wouldn't be here.  .....but I'm not afraid to call a spade a spade as BI is simply building on a game that is (quite frankly) not even finished yet.  For a full release game on PS4, there should be this many bugs.  .....and BI shouldn;'t be talking about a physical release let alone a paid DLC without first addressing some of the more persistent problems.  After all, we're not talking about a just a couple bugs here.  There are some basic optimizations issues along with mechanics that are simply broken.

I like DayZ and been a fan of BI since OPF days, but they really need to get their act together like they said they would.

I agree how frustrating it must be. Gladly, I've not had the same experience as you. I've had all the same bugs, but rarely have they caused me to die or be forced to relog.

In fact only once before have I died from such a bug. The rest of the time it's just an annoyance to me. I haven't have many decent guns due to dupers, so if the gun mag bug affects my gun, usually am SGK, I throw it away and quickly find another.

But you're right, they do need to fix and optimise the PS4 version. I'm bored of seeing reviews for the game online saying how bad it is, when I find it to be a great game. No wonder the player count on my home server is usually less then 10 players.
