FrostDMG 398 Posted July 5, 2012 I think it is stupid to make zombies run indoors... Right now the zombie run is so choppy/glitchy and unpredictable it isn't fun trying to kill them. The zombies will chase you, teleport behind you to do the attack animation then stop for 0.5 seconds and then accelerating 0-60 in 0.0001 seconds. If they were run to buildings, then it would be impossible to lose aggro indoors, especially since you got no weapon, people would almost be forced into disconnecting to despawn the zombies. This COULD work however the zombies speed would have to reduced pretty drastically, the zombies would also have to run more consistently so they can actually be shot instead of spraying bullets at them hoping to hit one.So yea... I think it's too early for that change but we'll see >_>
LumberBack 43 Posted July 5, 2012 have been playing with the armory in arma2 in the wait for the new patch... and ive unlocked all the zombies, its interesting how much faster they are when you use them... almost twice as fast as the normal sprint... i really wonder why the dev went that way... Maderas 12 Posted July 5, 2012 The way zombies behave when they're chasing you is pretty ass. I don't know how they're going to improve it though since they're handled client side (to improve server lag) once they start chasing you, which is what accounts for them being jerky as fuck and teleporting all over the place. I've had bullets clip through them many, many times as well.
RazorPony 0 Posted July 5, 2012 If the zombies are able to sprint indoors then that would force strangers to work even closer together. A group of 2 or 3 players can mow zombies down with ease.
peliluola@gmail.com 28 Posted July 5, 2012 It's funny that instead of running long leaps to become fast the zombies just make small steps REALLY fast. Looks hilarious at times. Also it's impossible to shoot at times, I agree to that.
unknown..2..u 0 Posted July 5, 2012 If i cause an aggro i high tail it out of town for a good 150mtrs then do the old switch'a'roo on them, i walk backwards and shoot them in the face when they stop to swipe me then go back into the town, it's a piece of piss.If it's just a minor town, no good loot and im low on ammo, i'll just keep running and lose them. vanchrian 2 Posted July 5, 2012 Yeah, its hard to shoot zombies in close quarters because the attack animation often makes the model go THROUGH you, and you have no idea where the hit box is.Also, zombies will often walk through doors and indoor barriers, which makes it even harder to shoot them. vanchrian 2 Posted July 5, 2012 Also the Walkers tend to run AROUND you and end up behind you, instead of straight at you. If they do this indoors its gonna make it impossible to hit them without spraying.
sunnz 24 Posted July 5, 2012 If the zombies are able to sprint indoors then that would force strangers to work even closer together. A group of 2 or 3 players can mow zombies down with ease.I will bet you £20 it will do NOTHING at all in terms of making people team up.Forcing team work does not work, it has to come naturally, and that is by making people who kill others be more visible( i dont give a fuck if it's not realistic, half the shit is not realistic). Knowing who is good/bad is a much better way of getting people to teamwork, as people will know who to trust more. This type of change, and the current one that has been done, is just making the game worse for individuals. NOT HARDER, JUST WORSE.

jovial 17 Posted July 5, 2012 Didn't Rocket say something about not fixing running zombies indoors until the pathing and other issues was fixed (ie, they don't zig zag and move retard fast with broken animations, wall hacks, floor hacks, etc).Because as it is, the only thing to balance the zombies moving and acting this way is the ability to lose or kill them indoors. If they're gonna run indoors, it obviously can't be like this, a zig zag through walls at breakneck speed.
