Battleye BEC getting no response on some servers 🤔

Recommended Posts

I have 6 servers running on a more than capable machine, all was working before but at the moment 4 instances of BEC cannot connect no response when it was all working before hand, My question is to BI will you continue to support BEC being the extension of the chosen anti-cheat program BattlEye for DayZ SA?

My other 2 instances are working fine, 1 on EXP and the other Official vanilla.

BEC is the best tool to use with BattlEye and for a dedicated server owners is still the best solution and I want to know will continued integration to keep this working for us dedicated server owners be confirmed? Will you integrate advanced admin tools into the server or via BattlEye through BEC?

Atm only a few functions work, The ones that dont are Whitelisting (Main concern) and a few others like super admins etc.

I really want to continue to use BEC so please inform us of its continued use with DayZ. 🤔

When I got my dedicated box, I started looking at BEC as I used it before, but then I found OmegaManager. It's free. It lets you deploy servers, add mods easily and it updates mods and the game automatically. There are automated messages and restarts and whitelisting. It even has a web interface.

My dedicated servers Im 2 feet from in a rack cabinet, will look into OmegaManager see if it suits my needs.

UPDATE, checked it out as soon as I saw needs steam credentials, I closed the page. Not for my needs.

What's wrong with Steam credentials?

I have never needed my steam credentials to run my servers, modded or not.

BEC aka Battleye Extended Controls is a 3rd party tool which has no association with BI and got discontinued in 2015 as the creator decided to drop it.

That you are not into the manager needing Steam credentials is fine. It requires those to automatically download and update the DayZ server files via SteamCMD, which is the core functionality of the manager.

In some form you also need Steam credentials to run your servers, even when you are downloading the files locally and uploading them onto your Servers, it's still a requirement.

When you are just looking for a pure RCon administration alternative:

- Omega https://omegax.cftools.de

- BattleMetrics https://www.battlemetrics.com/

- battleWarden https://battlewarden.net/

- infiSTAR BRC https://infistar.de/eng/product/infistar-brc

You can also create something that exactly suits your needs, yourself with the vast information available about BattlEye RCon.

OmegaManager uses Steam to install the game servers and to update the mods automatically. Since both require your Steam credentials, you need to put them in the config to get the files.

Yes I have read some posts made by the BEC creator, It was and still is a protest against monetization of server hosts and the people who do the hard work such a modders tool creator get zilch, I understand where he is comming from, was and still is a great tool, I have noticed that the beserver_x64.dll is the culprit not allowing more that 3 or more instances running no matter the port, possibly from the latest EXP update,... .dll can be made malicious and restrictive to systems so Im wondering who and what someone from either BI or BattlEye are up to.

I do all my updates manually to the servers its something I like to do and inspect things along the way, all my downloaded files come from my client machine which is where I am logged in on steam so I dont use any steam logins on the servers not even a steam cmd, if you make an option to run your tool with a option to use with steam login or without I will consider using it definitely.

I will have a look at the other options and see if any fit my requirements, Thanks.

UPDATE.. I did a quick check on the tools you listed and they dont seem to suit my needs, Im already using dart so using that and BEC still gives me complete control over my servers.

Tried Omega and it looks good but I found its weakness,.. You need to have server connected via rcon on the website to have whitelisting etc,.. and from what I see only allowed 1 instance,.. offline doesnt feature whitelist, or scheduling or ingame messages etc..,..but can have more than one instance apparently, so Im back to bec for now, still for some, suspicious reason bec wont connect to my other pvp servers, connects fine with test servers and other 3 servers,.. Makes me feel that Im restricted to how many instances I can run or some sort of port block, I can easily run up to 50 instances of dayz perhaps more but at the most I want to run 10ish,.. mostly test servers, mod test servers etc.. with some pvp, pve, and survival/rp servers, if only bec would connect to my other dayz pvp servers, any help or options are welcome, I have other machines and vms I can also test these on, I will see how it goes.

Iceman, do you mind me asking?

How do you get multiple servers to start?

After 1 is up, I just get "DayZ is running" and the 2nd server doesn't load.

You don't need to keep the website running to have whitelisting. You use the webpage to create the whitelisting, the server messages, schedules, etc, but the webpage doesn't need to be opened anywhere for all those features.

I would have to use it for everytime my ip changes as its dynamic for antihack and dos protection, with bec because its local on the same machine I only need to use 127.0.0.1 even if my external ip changes.
