Kodie Collings 9 Posted June 7, 2019 Running up hills should use up more stamina or the character should simply be forced to walk. I'm sure i remember it being like this on PC when I played many years ago. It makes it more realistic and encourages people to use paths and roads instead of just taking shortcuts.
bent.toe 529 Posted June 9, 2019 Add gas mask aswell then... Try sprinting in sunshine, with a huge backpack, clothes, vest and rifle in hand and still be able to get the amount of oxygen to your lunges. How about poop? Peeing? Sleeping? Washing clothes? Toothbrush?.... Either it's a GAME on a console... Or it's a real life simulator.
TheDrifT3r_Cz 17 Posted June 9, 2019 Even GTA have a different animations for hill climbing... And it's not a hardcore survival. So, no it's still a game, but DayZ is stuck in medieval age in comparison to other game releases in this year.. Mask is now only for customize your character.. Nothing else. Weight reduce your stamina, so why not breathing through the gas mask? Try to run with mask on your face..

It wouldn't make it a simulator it would just encourage people to actually use roads and paths instead of unrealistically sprinting up a steep hill. Reducing movement speed up hills and adding restrictions for REALLY steep hills would (if anything) make players appreciate the map design more. How on earth do you know that players don't run on the road? How do you know that players don't appreciate the map design and layout when exploring off the road? I been EVERYWHERE on Chernarus and I know 90% of the map like my own pocket. Don’t assume or speak for everyone. Maybe YOU should get off the road and explore and you might appreciate the map design eeh?

I'm trying to be constructive here. I understand the cause and effect of game design. It's obvious that (most players) if given the choice to run up a hill and save time will do so, instead of taking the long way around.
