Spending more time looking for daytime....

Servers than actually playing this damn game. Dont get me wrong I absolutely love night time play in dayz. However the lack of moon phases, no nvgs, and lack of other available options to aid in nighttime progression is more than frustrating. What happened to the good old 24 hour cycles? Why the hell did they cut it down to 2hrs day and 1 hr night? I might actually be able to get sorted for nightime play if I had more than 2 ish hours of daylight before I spend more time than necessary trying to find more daylight. Maybe atleast add in day and night indicators on the damn server list.

I agree, the console server browser doesn’t display enough information. Ping, and time of day are very important factors on PC, so why aren’t they there?

I also think that night comes around far to quickly in the vanilla game. 2 hours of daylight are just not enough. Everybody knows that maintaining player pop at night is a major problem, but i think people would be more willing to play nightime if it didn’t come around so often.

Personally, I think that 3-4 hours of day, and 1 hour of night is ideal. Hopefully you manage to negotiate private servers, and this becomes less of an issue.

Worst part is I'm penalized for hopping to find a daytime. Join, wait 90 seconds, it's dark af, leave, rinse repeat.

Given the size of the map and what you can go i do think the day time needs to be increased. I personally think 3 hours could work at 2 hours that just disappears in this game.

I've kind of given up on this game. My TV is calibrated to my room which I mainly use at night, so my calibration settings mean my screen isn't super bright. The update to nighttime made my nights so dark its pretty much unplayable. Without a torch I cant even see my character, just a floating spade on a black screen with the hud icons in the bottoms corners and a reflection of my room. 

I like the idea of night, it adds to the game, but only if you can actually play at night. I also don't have hours at a time to play, so a 2-hour day worked nice for me, but I would have preferred night time to be half an hour instead.
