gas stoves bugged or just me?

so ive finally got a gas canister. The white line underneath is full. Ive attached it to my stove. All fine so far. Ive now found a cooking pot and am struggling to get it all to work.

I can put the assembled parts on the floor, ie gas, stove and pot. It gives me the option to 'turn on' but when I press F (turn on) it doesn't do anything. Am I doing something wrong.

Also, ive got some raw chicken, that's in the pot. Ive got a bottle of water too. How do I add that? do you chuck it all in, plastic and all? so close yet so far..

Attach the stove to the gas bottle or gas bottle to the stove whilst holding either part in your hands. They will then become one item which when placed you'll be able to light with matches. Put the pot on the ground and empty the water bottle into the pot, add the chicken to the pot and put it on the stove. Watch the timer as it cooks and remove it after one complete cycle or it will burn. Burn't food will make you sick. 😉

Nope, Gas lamp is self-igniting too.
